Our client in Philadelphia, PA is looking for an Information Security Engineer to join their team. This is a remote role but the company would like this person to live locally to one of the main offices (Philly, NYC, Washington, San Francisco). Although this position is remote, this person might occasionally have to go to an office. This is a permanent position by way of contract to hire.

Position Description:

• Build network and systems security controls
• Working with firewalls, intrusion detection, prevention, anti-malware, application whitelisting, host intrusion prevention, endpoint detection and response (EDR), privileged access management (PAM), privilege elevation, vulnerability scanners, content monitoring / filtering, security monitoring (SIEM), enterprise authentication and authorization)
• Plan and execute IS projects and maintain strategies for IS documentation
• Perform security and privacy reviews of IT services and changes
• Monitor change management database activity
• Plan for the lifecycle, implementation and integration of future security technologies with other security and non-security technologies.
• Implement process improvements for Information Security Programs.
• Collaborate actively with senior technologists on other IT teams to design various solutions that satisfy the needs of each team
• Work with with internal and external audit and exam teams as required.
• Establish baseline configurations for various security technologies
• Serve as a third-tier support resource and SME for technologies
• Participate in technical and non-technical projects requiring IS
• Serve as a member of the Computer Security Incident Response Team
• Assist with incident response and security operations center efforts.
• Provide new security solutions as well as effective improvements to existing security controls
• Assist with threat and vulnerability management activities
• Work with Information Security Governance, Security Operations and other teams throughout the company to align protection policies. .
• Automate workflows for security processes and procedures.
• Identify and drive improvements to Information Security programs.
• Offer technical guidance, training and direction to less experienced staff.
• May require on-call work as assigned.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience and technical background.
• CISSP, GSEC, CISA, or similar certification
• 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong technical knowledge
• Understanding of security concepts and key technology platforms
• Working knowledge of network and security protocols including TCP/IP, SMTP, FTP, SSH, TLS, SSL, HTTP, IPSec and other VPN protocols.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Ability to effectively communicate business risk relating to information security
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Results oriented, self-motivated, ability to multi-task
• Strong analytical, process and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment
