POSITION OVERVIEW :

As an Industrial Radiographer (X-Ray Technician) you will have direct contact with clients and are responsible for performing Industrial Radiography in multiple settings at various jobsite locations. Maintains safe, secure and healthy environment by adhering to Company/Customer safety standards and practices and to legal regulations, alerting others regarding potential hazards or concerns. Responsible for the security and control of industrial radiographic equipment during its use and transportation and for ensuring that compliance with the license/registration, regulations and company procedures is maintained. May also be responsible for project execution and daily tasks as associated with providing industrial radiography services.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Actively participate in Penhall and client Safety programs.
  • Set up & utilization of industrial radiographic equipment in a manner prescribed by the manufacturer and in accordance with all federal/state regulations and local requirements, the license/registration and its conductions, applicable procedures, company policies, notices, directives, memorandums and instructions. Calibrate the equipment and maintaining constant surveillance and immediate control of industrial radiographic equipment at all times while in use.
  • Conduct radiographic tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects). Perform specialized inspections if applicable.
  • Control the area and preventing all unauthorized personnel from being within the restricted area boundaries while industrial radiographic equipment is in use & maintaining safety among team members and minimize & maintain radiation exposure. Safety of co-workers as well as members of the general public.
  • Providing the required notification to appropriate management personnel in the event of an incident, and to provide assistance as necessary.
  • Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations. Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specification or standard and evaluate results.
  • Interpret radiographs. Organize and report test results with confidence to the customer.
  • Completion of proper documentation and reports associated with radiographic operations including but not limited to completing daily radiation reports.
  • May instruct and/or supervise others on job site.
  • Learn and abide by company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management.


Job Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Proof of completion of 40-hour Radiation Safety Course or state required safety program
  • Proof of IRRSP/State Radiographer Card Holder Certification
  • High School Diploma.
  • Solid customer service background exhibiting professionalism and confidence
  • Excellent written and communication skills both social and interpersonal.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce written reports, document data and communicate findings
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Products (Excel, Word, Office, etc)
  • Motivated self-starter with excellent time management skills is a must.
  • Strong Technical/Mechanical Aptitude & exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic and dependable
  • Exceptional safety and quality awareness
  • Adaptable to changing schedules
  • Team player is imperative
  • Ability to follow directions and procedures
  • Willingness to travel, as needed
  • Must pass a required pre-employment alcohol/drug screen as well as random drug/alcohol
  • Must pass a pre-employment background record check
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have a good driving history
  • Must be available to work days, nights, weekends and travel out of town if necessary
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to lift at least 75 lbs. or more
  • Must adhere to all safety rules and regulations


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BS/Masters (or in progress) in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or Archeology.
  • Experience with GPR, concrete scanning, utility location and/or general construction
