ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Interfaces with internal and external customers, foreign order administration, freight forwarders, customs officers, and other functional areas to ensure coordination and logistics of shipment.
• Ensures legal compliance and provides import/export administration and control within government rules and regulations, including appropriate licensing for shipments, proper packaging methods, and online filing of SED's.
• Responsible for accurate paperwork and compliance to customer specific requirements.
• Exercises some judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
• Other duties may be assigned as required.

Required Education:

• Associate degree required or a combination of related education and experience. Associate degree in International Business, Logistics, or related field is preferred.

Required Length & Type of Experience:

• 0-1 years of experience in compliance, international shipping, freight forwarding, custom clearance procedures, SED filings, FDA forms, letter of credits and freight filings.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Good verbal and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage time.
• Ability to develop and carry out policies and procedures.
• Ability to shift priorities and manage time effectively, completing a variety of work with changing deadlines, accurately and on time.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities under general supervision.
• Computer knowledge/proficiency (Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of customs regulations and requirements.
• The employee must possess the ability to navigate the complexities of import shipping compliance and practice the safety requirements and policies of the Company.
• Related work experience in import field with general knowledge and skill with International Logistics.
• Knowledge of principles and methods for moving goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits.

Compensation:

Salary range for this position is: $27- $35 an hour

The base salary pay range for this job level is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, business considerations, and local market conditions, as well as candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, and skills.
