Job Description

The Human Resources Specialist supports the Senior Director, Talent and Workforce Planning and plays a key role in the overall operations of the Human Resources team with a focus on supporting the talent management process, onboarding, and internship program. Occasionally, the Human Resources Specialist will also provide direct outreach to potential candidates engaging passive candidates and presenting opportunities. Specific responsibilities include:
• Collaborate with hiring managers to develop and/or review job descriptions and determine selection criteria for all open positions; obtain approvals for offers to ensure in line with established guidelines for posting.
• Utilize effective methods for sourcing candidates and ensure all recruitment activities are in compliance with recruitment, FCC, affirmative action guidelines and union contracts; will develop and submit postings for recruitment ensuring broad outreach and inclusion of diversity sites.
• Conduct and document outreach to community partners.
• Work closely with hiring managers to identify job requirements and develop an approach to filling the pipeline with qualified individuals from diverse candidate pools.
• Plan and document the interview and selection process and procedures leveraging Workday and including the development of interview questionnaire, conducting telephone screening and other assessments.
• Work closely with the hiring managers for open staff and internship opportunities to identify finalists, conduct reference checks and complete verifications; oversee the onboarding process and partner with the Senior Director, Talent and Workforce Planning to make salary recommendations and extend job offers.
• Assist in oversight and maintenance of affirmative action data and reporting and FCC requirements to ensure compliance in all recruitment, promotions, and transfer processes; document and maintain report data for EEO Public File report.
• Respond to employee questions and concerns and conduct exit interviews.
• Assist with the administration of the performance review process including 30/60/90 check ins, goal setting, mid-year and year-end reviews including preparation of progress reports;
• Provide support in processing Workday transactions and other areas of Human Resources, as needed.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualified candidates will have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to build relationships both within and outside the organization. Additional qualifications include:
• A minimum of three years of experience in Human Resources with a focus on recruiting;
• Fundamental interviewing skills experience;
• Proficiency with Workday or similar applicant tracking system;
• Knowledge of Federal, State, and employment regulations and policies including pay transparency;
• Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

This is a hybrid position. The incumbent will be expected to work in the New York City offices at least 2 days per week. The WNET Group reserves the right to change and/or modify the hybrid schedule at its discretion. Salary ranges are based on benchmarked nonprofit and industry related data provided by an outside consulting firm and are commensurate with skills and experience. The hiring salary range for this position is $58,500.00 - $64,000.00. Internal equity considerations will be reviewed before making a final offer.
