Head of Nonclinical Development Direct-hire opportunity in South San Francisco for a Head of Nonclinical Development (Senior Director, Executive Director, or, possibly, Vice President). This is a newly created position due to company growth!

*Reports to:* Chief Scientific Officer.
*WFH Policy:* While we do offer some work-from-home flexibility, employees are expected to work onsite in SSF on a regular basis, ideally at least 2-3 days per week.

What You Will Be Doing - You will directly impact company strategy as a member of the Research Leadership Team
- Build and lead the nonclinical / translational strategy for our programs
- Design and execute plans to efficiently advance our programs to the clinic
- Oversight of in vitro, in vivo, ex vivo studies, GLP studies, nonclinical safety/toxicology, exploratory/developmental pharmacology studies, & PK/ADME assessment
- Establish the nonclinical development function with the requisite scientific, safety/toxicology, PK/ADME and regulatory expertise
- Inform early clinical dosing strategy by integrating the summation of preclinical ADME, pharmacology and toxicology data
- Reports to: Chief Scientific Officer
What You Need for this Position Required:
- PhD in toxicology, pharmacology or other relevant science
- 10+ years' industry experience within preclinical development / nonclinical development
- 5+ years' proven leadership experience
- Proven experience progressing drug candidates from research through preclinical development
- Experience in designing, conducting and interpreting nonclinical pharmacology, ADME and toxicology studies

Preferred:
- Alternative/novel modalities (e.g., protein-small-molecule conjugates, gene therapy, ADCs, I/O) experience preferred.
