Ultimate Staffing is proud to partner with an international electronics fabrication organization in St. Clair County, IL. We are seeking an experienced Hardware Design/Embedded Systems Engineer to join their dynamic team. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field., a minimum of 3 years of industry experience (not education) in embedded firmware development using C and C++, and proficiency in analog/digital electronic hardware design.

Job Title: Hardware Design/Embedded Systems Engineer

Location: St. Clair County, IL

Status: Direct Hire

Schedule: Monday - Friday, Days

Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 (may be negotiable for the right candidate)

Job Summary:

As an Hardware Design/Embedded Systems Engineer, you will be a key member of our skilled Engineering and Technician team, supporting various aspects of contract manufacturing operations. Your primary responsibility will be designing hardware and software for production test equipment, ranging from simple interface modules to sophisticated automated control systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed analysis of customer designs to determine appropriate stimulus and measurement parameters.
  • Develop analog/digital electronics to interface with Unit Under Test (UUT) and present results in a production-friendly manner.
  • Create embedded microcontroller firmware using C or C++ for hardware control and display.
  • Perform electronic circuit analysis to support failure investigations and provide technical support to customers.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in embedded firmware development using C and C++.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in analog/digital electronic hardware design.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in developing microcontroller-based embedded systems and controlling electromechanical actuators.
Additional Preferred Skills:
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary development projects.
  • Experience in software development using C# for Windows OS.
  • Experience in designing factory automation equipment, including PLCs, motor drives, and pneumatics.
