Position Summary

The Trafalgar, Costsaver, Brendan Vacations, Contiki Vacations graphic designer will design for the USA region and select The Travel Corporate projects, which include, but not limited to, printed materials, web banners, online content, landing pages, social media, email campaigns, simple video edits, and PowerPoint presentations. The graphic designer will create assets for both digital and print for partner initiatives, brochure and campaign launches, paid media, sales team collateral requests, internal team collateral, etc. The graphic designer will advise on best practices for visual communication and provide technical expertise regarding graphic design, layout, and digital and work closely with the rest of the design team. Additionally, the graphic designer also will conduct production work when design is not necessarily needed and instead leveraging templates or updating assets with imagery or text. It is the designer's responsibility to ensure all deadlines are met and projects are delivered accurately and on time. They must also make sure that the work within the department follows any pertinent laws and regulations. We need someone who is creative and willing to roll up their sleeves to get the assets created while understanding that the overall brand look and feel is defined by the global team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follow brand guidelines developed by global team to create regional assets
  • Assist global teams in creating assets for all regions when needed or for the parent company
  • Follow design direction and style guidelines for all four brands, plus parent company to create marketing materials; this includes, but is not limited to, printed materials, web banners, online content, landing pages, social media, email campaigns, and presentations
  • Think creatively and develop new design concepts, graphics and layouts
  • Use design "brief" to vet the needs of the project, assist in managing the project flow to project owner
  • Perform formatting details such as typography, composition, color correction, and graphic elements
  • Create and revise print and digital collateral ensuring quality, consistency and accuracy
  • Multitask and prioritize multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously
  • Accountable for the high-quality delivery of on-brand assets
  • Prepare drafts and present the ideas to the marketing team
  • Image source for a high volume of collateral
  • Production and pre-press production for print materials such as ads, brochures, direct mailers, posters, banners, etc.
  • Experienced in photo editing, color correction and image manipulation
  • Final file production of assets including reviewing graphics, layouts and fonts before files are completed
  • Work closely with the Marketing Team to ensure that all created content is on-bran
  • Edit video footage to create shorter or slightly revised versions with different intro and end frame graphic
  • Create PowerPoint templates for team to use and build out with consistent theme
  • Create editable fields in Adobe Acroba
  • Create and edit web pages within existing Content Management System
  • Understanding of assets storage programs (Box.com) and following existing naming convention
  • Must have a can-do attitude and an eagerness to learn new technique
  • Meet deadlines to ensure timely publication
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment with accuracy and attention to detai
  • Strong work ethic and organization/time management skill
  • Archive produced graphic
  • Keep up-to-date with trends in graphic design and development techniques and software
  • Participate in and foster design thinking and visual problem solving among the team
  • Leverage and work in project management tool for management of daily tasks and project assignments

Qualifications

Employment Experience:
  • Proven graphic design experience
  • Possession of creative flair, versatility, conceptual/visual ability and originality
  • Demonstrates graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
  • Excellent organizational, presentation and writing skills
  • Proven ability to drive for results, in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to interact, communicate and present ideas
  • Up to date with industry leading software and technologies (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Professionalism regarding time, costs and deadlines
  • Highly proficient in all design aspects
  • Proactive, detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Able to multi-task and effectively manage several projects at once
Education, Licensure, Certification:
  • 2+ years' experience in graphic design
Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required. Internet proficiency required. Basic editing skills in Adobe Premiere Pro required. HTML/CSS preferred. Ability to work in Content Management System.
Communication Skills:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to interact with all levels of staff required.
Vision Requirements:
  • Vision correctable to 20/20 with reasonable accommodation required. Ability to look at a computer monitor for long periods of time with reasonable accommodation required.
