JOB SUMMARY

The Global Product Manager - Downstream Marketing (Agriculture) is responsible for executing Annual Operating Plan (AOP) actions, Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy and execution, New Product platform extensions and working with Marketing Communications to drive right customer engagement and lead generation actions. The position will interface with Upstream Product Management to conduct Voice of Customer activities, handoff NPD from Upstream to Downstream Marketing at appropriate time, drive actions and metrics for product launches and develop set of actions to increase market share for existing portfolio of products/solutions. You will lead AOP and GTM workstreams from strategy to execution. This individual contributor will provide cross-functional leadership to support the product line vision.

  • Drive AOP actions to meet/exceed plan. Lead team application engineers and product specialists to drive AOP/GTM actions and engagement with upstream product management on daily basis.
  • Define, implement and maintain the overall product marketing strategy for assigned product lines (product, price, promotion, and channel). Provide input into Product line Roadmaps creation.
  • Feed information regarding market drivers, technology developments, intellectual property landscape, regulatory drivers, and competitor positioning of assigned product line segments to upstream product management. Recommend project priorities based on findings.
  • Develop business cases for identified opportunities (primarily platform extensions) including revenue potential, market risks and uncertainties, and collaborate with engineering and sales to develop ROI estimates for recommended product/service proposals.
  • Participate in cross-functional innovation teams to analyze markets and develop new product and service strategies. Encourage free thinking and collaboration amongst team, but make sure that they remain focused on the business objective you have provided.
  • Evaluate adjacent and new market segments for assigned value stream(s). Develop market segment revenue potential. Identify and propose market-based solutions offering growth potential.
  • In collaboration with Upstream Product Management, conduct and coordinate market research, competitive assessments, and Voice of Customer research.
  • Partner with Business Development team to define strategic product/technology gaps. Identify potential partners and acquisitions to fill identified gaps.
  • Lead product launch plans and go-to-market initiatives. Product Launch plans includes value propositions, messaging development, training needs, and sales collateral tools. Define, implement and maintain overall product marketing for assigned product lines, driving annual go-to-market initiatives designed to optimize growth and profitability of TSI's products.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Communication and Product Marketing Specialist/Application Engineering team members, on the development of multi-media marketing programs to support lead generation and advance prospects to sales. Contribute to training of sales, including direct sales and channel partners.
  • Manage a general collaboration portal that collects and analyzes key data for making product decisions. Data will include lost sales analysis, product enhancement requests, market research data, customer complaints and satisfaction ratings, novel end user applications, unmet customer needs, and pertinent technology developments.
  • Assess existing business processes and identify opportunities to increase efficiencies.
  • Manage price review program for assigned products, including conducting benchmarking activities. Recommend price levels. Implement updated pricing.
  • Analyze financial performance of released products. Make ROI-based decisions on continuation engineering activities and margin improvement opportunities.
  • Provide demand forecasts and market intelligence to Operations to optimize balance between customer service levels, working capital, and capacity utilization.
  • Travel as required by business to support activities such as customer and channel partner engagement, training, new product launches, and visiting potential business partners.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business or Engineering/Science
  • 5+ years progressive Product Management experience
  • Experience in Precision Agricultural Technology, farming principles and practices, and agronomics
  • Experience in sensors, monitors and control systems

  • International Business, Instrumentation and/or Operational (Manufacturing, Technical Support, Engineering) experience

  • Agriculture product portfolio experience is highly preferred.
  • Voice of Customer methodology, Strategic Marketing framework, Pricing tools and techniques.
  • P&L Management experience

TRAVEL
  • Position requires a minimum of 25-40% travel as needed (international included)
