$16.01/hour
Job Summary:

This is manual work in the performance of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks of a physically demanding nature. Work involves, but is not limited to the performance of duties, which are of a routine nature and are performed with some degree of independence. Tasks include but are not limited to: general requests for service, refuse/recycling collection, snow/ice removal, routine pickups/delivery tasks, and emergency response.

Required to drive a truck and other vehicles like boom lifts, backhoes, forklifts, bobcats, etc.

Must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays to support events as needed, i.e. Commencement, and athletic events. Works under general supervision. Explicit instructions need be only given on new, non-routine, or unfamiliar procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • Clean and maintain pools and fountain equipment.

  • Performs general laboring tasks in operating cardboard balers, moving bales, and cleaning parking centers.

  • Operates boom lift, forklifts, and other light equipment.
  • Unloads and moves materials, supplies, furniture, equipment and trash.
  • Performs related work as required.
  • Inspect, schedule and perform pressure-washing as needed.
  • Perform CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) duties.
  • Other duties as assigned



Qualifications

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma, or equivalent, is required for this role. 1-2 years of work experience is required, preferably in related field/trade.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication is a must. Candidate should have a strong customer service orientation and be good in problem solving, time management, and project management. Must have solid planning and organizational skills and have a superior attention to detail.

Candidate must posses a Drivers License and have a clean driving history (MVR). Must have training/license to operate light to medium heavy trucks, forklifts and moving equipment.

Candidate must have the ability to use a variety of small power tools and lighting equipment. The candidate will operate trucks, up to 3 tons. Must have thorough knowledge of the materials, supplies, equipment and practices used in the trade. The ability to recognize minor maintenance needs, including those needed for vehicles and other equipment, is desired. Must be able to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.

Basic knowledge of MS Word and Excel and the ability to manage CMMS is preferred.
