Location: Roadhouse - Kanab, Utah

Hiring Range: This position's hiring range is anticipated to be $16 to $17 hourly, depending on experience, plus great benefits!

Interviews will occur weekly until the position is filled.

Position SummaryThe General Landscaper (Tier 1) assists in the maintenance of the landscaped areas of the Roadhouse, maintain the natural beauty of the undeveloped areas of the Roadhouse, and performs a variety of related tasks.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• TreatpeoplearoundyouwithKindnessandCompassion,build trustbydemonstrating authenticityandfollowingthroughonyourcommitments,prioritizeyour well-beinglikeyou do ourmission,andworkto buildstrongrelationshipswithyour colleaguesby participatingin communicationloopstoshareandreceivehonestfeedback.Youareresponsibleand accountablefortheculture youadd toyour team dynamic.
  
• Performsmanualandpowertoolassistedweedremovalfromlawns,garden&flowerbeds,rockbeds, walkways, parkinglot,dog parks,areas ofheavy traffic and naturallandscaped areas.
  
• Performsweeklymowingandedgingoflawnsusinggasorbatterypoweredmowersandtrimmers.
  
• Performspruningof treesandvariousvegetationtoindustrystandard usingchainsaw,powertools&hand tools.
  
• Watersareasbyhandusingahoseand/or wateringcanasdirect.
  
• Monitorsallplantswhileworkingandreportanychangesorconcern.
  
• Performssnowremovalofwalkwaysandpublicbuildings.
  
• Maintains a safe workplace, valuing and modeling safe work practices,adhering to organizationalsafetypractices and rules,andcommunicatingaboutunsafe practices and conditions.
  
• Other duties as assigned.
  

SkillsandExperience:

• Must bepersonally committed totheMission andCore ValuesoftheBest Friends Animal Society.
  
• Previousexperienceinlandscapingorgardeningpreferred.
  
• Abilitytoworkaloneaswellasworkingaspartofateam.
  
• Abilitytofollowwrittenororaldirectioneffectively.
  
• Sensitivitytoenvironmentalissues.
  
• Apositiveapproachtochallengingsituations.
  
• Anabilitytolearnonthejobandadesiretolearnnewskills.
  
• General basiccomputerskillsrequired,email,calendar&internetapplication.
  
• Ability to professionally advocate Best Friends' positions on issues.
  

PhysicalRequirements:

• Mustbeabletoroutinelyliftandcarry 50pounds.
  
• Mustbeabletoworkoutdoorsforprolongedperiodsinallweatherconditionswith temperatures rangingfrombelowfreezingtoabove100degrees.
  
• Mustbeabletoperformstrenuousphysicalactivitydaily,including, but notlimitedtoclimbing, liftingandcarrying,reaching, stooping,squatting,cleaningandbending.
