Forklift Operator

Georgia-Pacific is looking to hire efficient and safety-focused Forklift Operators for our Georgia-Pacific Consumer Products Distribution Centers located in Portland, OR. Forklift Operators create value by facilitating the movement of product through the facility to ensure accurate and timely delivery of our products to both internal and external customers. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety standards and knowledge of forklift operations.

The current openings are on the 3rd shift. Applicants should be willing to work all shifts, as well as overtime, weekends and holidays and be willing to join a union.

Pay rate is $25.53 per hour per collective bargaining agreement.

What You Will Do In Your Role

• Conducting required pre-operating checks on forklift and equipment
• Safely operating forklift and/or other machinery to complete tasks such as loading/unloading barges, moving product within the warehouse, and stacking at heights of 10 - 18 feet
• Operating a forklift with lift weights up to 7,000 pounds for 10+ hours per day while using various attachments to move product such as forks, grabs, clamps, and push pull attachments
• Using computer terminal/tablet equipment to obtain work assignments and complete those assignments as directed.
• Utilizing hand tools and equipment while periodically handling product weights up to 50 pounds
• Supporting our strict adherence to a safe working environment by wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Working in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment that is tobacco free
• Provide accurate counts of finished goods

• High School Diploma or GED
• One (1) year or more of experience driving and operating a forklift within an industrial or manufacturing environment
