What is a Freezer Fork Lift Driver/Operator?
A Freezer Fork Lift Driver/Operator at Ice Cream Specialties (a subsidiary of Prairie Farms Dairy) must safely operate a verity of fork lifts in order to complete orders for outbound product to customers inside the Distribution/Freezer Warehouse.
This is a 1st shift role: Monday - Friday and some mandatory Saturdays: 8:00 AM EST - 4:00 PM EST

Ice Cream Specialties, Lafayette, produces ice cream novelties for external customers (or private label customers), as well as our own brand, North Star. This Lafayette branch distributes products such as: ice cream cones, popsicles, fudge bars, ice cream bars, doggie sundaes, and ice cream sandwiches, as well as multi-packs for large "club" distributors.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to very cold temperature conditions (-20º below 0 F). The noise level in can also vary within the building and can be extremely loud.
What are the physical demands of the job?
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to be able to work standing for long periods of time. Must be able to stoop, kneel, reach, lift and must be able to work under these conditions every day. This job requires frequent lifting and stacking of product up to 50 lbs; stacking anywhere between 400-500 cases of product per shift. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. This position requires good corrected hearing.
