Position Overview

The position is ultimately responsible for asset procurement, management and maintenance with a direct focus on total cost of ownership over the life of the region and company fleet. This position requires technical abilities, performance management skills, financial understanding and industry knowledge. Other responsibilities include the efficient and effective utilization of human resources, plant and equipment. The role is expected to work closely with the Region and Company Presidents and their teams through hands on management and visibility in the business. The role will require regular travel, primarily within Florida, up to 60% of the time. The positions' ultimate goals are to develop an environment of work teams and guiding these teams to be the best in the business. You must foster teamwork, positive work environment and overall safety of yourself and others.

Schedule:

Position requires the ability to work 10-12 hour shifts, some nights/weekends and possibly some holidays.

Supervision Duties

  • Manage, evaluate, monitor, and coach personnel supervised.
  • Issue annual performance reviews, corrective actions as required
  • Manage Labor expenditure and staff appropriately to ensure proper Regular/Overtime balance Complete all paperwork and reports required by the company.
  • Positively supervise and motivate professional.
  • Control expenditures and maximize profits for the plant, region, and company.
  • Adhere to and positively communicate all company policies.


Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the total cost of ownership exceeds industry standards in order to provide the organization a competitive advantage in the market
  • Maintain the current 5-year CAP-EX plan (Target fleet). Including scheduling purchases to maximize utilization
  • Coordinate with local company teams to provide CAP-EX justification. Identify correct fleet levels for forecasted company volume. Complete component life cycle analysis.
  • Develop and manage strategic disposal plan.
  • Work with local operating companies to optimize operating conditions at sites to improve overall equipment performance. (i.e. improve haul roads, stockpile management, right size fleet for operations etc.)
  • Promote partnering with OEM
  • Optimize Asset Base -managing leasing activities for the region
  • Determine leases vs. buy programs that optimize lifecycle costs
  • Develop/manage Florida Fleet strategy for sharing equipment as well as manage Lytx systems.
  • Utilize performance management skills communication and knowledge to ensure financial success, safety awareness and operational excellence.
  • Challenge and hold team members accountable to deliver results
  • Champion the development, improvement, implementation and use of shop and equipment excellence programs including: Compliance/Risk, CMMS, Tire Programs, Oil Analysis, Contamination Control, Telematics, 5S Program, Parts/Inventory Management, LOFAT, Maintenance plans, Fuel Management, Preventative Maintenance, Lytx, Planning and Scheduling required outside repairs.
  • Drive innovation through application of new technology
  • Partner with local teams to ensure revenue and recharge rates are set properly and the equipment, shop and delivery accounts break even.
  • Provide follow up and ensure sustainability of all OPS initiatives and financial impact. Completing financial impact tracker monthly.
  • Be the champion for company fleet and equipment partnering with the Area Equipment Managers and Procurement
  • Lead OPS/CMMS Implementation for PMI Region
  • Communicate and ensure CRH/PMI Equipment Strategy is implemented and executing the utilization of CMMS and its modules. Customer Service - Respond to requests from internal stakeholders with strong customer service mindset; Understand impacts of incidents, or causes of potential incidents, on our ability to service our external customers and implement solutions while maintaining strong communication with internal team.
  • Department Management - Create a high performance environment for the department's Maintenance team; provide leadership coaching and technical direction of assigned maintenance staff; assist with employee performance evaluations; and hiring of hourly maintenance staff


Safety & Environmental
  • Assure compliance with ALL safety programs.
  • Confirm that proper maintenance is conducted on all equipment.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and report corrections as needed.


Vehicle and Equipment Service and Maintenance
  • Routinely inspect vehicles and equipment - report repair priorities.
  • Ensure Shops, Plants, and Equipment are clean and properly maintained.
  • Ensure safety equipment is maintained.
  • Schedule vehicle repairs through Regional Manager.


Qualification Requirements
  • Bachelor degree or related experience
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of equipment management experience
  • Experience managing P&L
  • Must be a problem solver
  • Strong Analytical and Data mining skills required
  • Must be a strong written and oral communicator
  • Strong Presentation Skills
  • Proven negotiation skills needed
  • Must take the initiative to increase the quality of one's skills to become more efficient.
  • Must be able to make good judgment calls when under pressure.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Work requires walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting objects.
  • Must be able to perform mathematical function pertaining to billing, volumes, quantities, etc
  • Must have strong computer skills
  • May be required to work at other locations to fill in for other managers as needed.
  • Must be able to go out and approach people to obtain future business or investigate complaints.
  • Must be able skilled in conflict resolution
  • Ability to work nights, odd shift hours based on operational needs and Saturdays.


Work Requirements
  • Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, criminal background check and driving record review.
  • Must be willing to work flexible schedule including: nights, weekends and holidays when necessary.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in The United States.
  • Must be able to drive a manual & automatic transmission.
  • Must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety.
  • Regular and timely attendance is required.
