General Overview

Our MGB Respiratory Protection Program (RPP) leverages a shared services model that combines the expertise of our existing and ongoing entity-level RPP models which include entity clinics and Train the Trainer-supported unit-based fit testing, with support from central MGB OHS RPP fit testing technicians. By collaborating and sharing resources, we can ensure that our respiratory protection program is comprehensive, compliant, and effective, protecting the health and safety of our employees.

The MGB OHS RPP Technician will work under the direction of the OHS RPP Program Manager to provide support for the system's respiratory protection program. The RPP Technician will be responsible for conducting fit tests, providing education on the proper use of respiratory protection equipment, and performing equipment maintenance. The technician will also assist with program data collection and analysis, supply chain management, and other program-related tasks as assigned.

May be asked to travel to MGB entities and serves as resource for entity fit testing programs. Supports fit testing training including the train the trainer model, unit based fit testing activities, central clinic fit testing sessions and other related needs identified.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conducts respirator fit tests across the healthcare system, in accordance with OSHA regulations and MGB RPP's respiratory protection program policies and procedures
  • Assists with the development and implementation of the MGB Train the Trainer program
  • Provide education to employees on the proper use and maintenance of respiratory protection equipment
  • Expertly manage the supply chain for fit test kits to ensure efficient and effective program execution
  • Maintain accurate records of fit test results, training, and equipment maintenance
  • Participate in ongoing quality assessment and program improvement efforts


Qualifications
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma / GED Required; Associates Degree Preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience with data collection and analysis preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Skills/Abilities/Competencies
  • Ability to perform respirator fit tests and provide education on the proper use and maintenance of respiratory protection equipment
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and respiratory protection program requirements preferred
  • Experience in training and education preferred
  • Maturity and operational problem solving/decision making experience
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams and customers.
  • Must have reliable transportation and ability to travel to multiple MGB locations
