The integration of the two companies is still in process. With the stability of an over 50-year history with no layoffs, Hypertherm does not plan to make significant changes to OMAX's operations or management structure. The company's current offices and manufacturing operations in Kent, WA, will remain intact with no consolidations or reductions planned.

OMAX is currently recruiting a full-time Field Service Technician. In this position, you be based out of Ohio and have an opportunity to become an associate of an amazing company! In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

New Machine Installation Service

  • Travel to customer locations in support of planned events
  • Uncrate and inventory OMAX equipment
  • Layout and permanent placement of equipment
  • Assembly and interconnection of sub-assemblies
  • Perform, system tests and repairs
  • Perform new equipment training
  • Perform follow-up training in support of new equipment & accessories after installation


Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems pertaining to previously installed machines
  • On-site at customer location and over phone and through detailed email correspondence


Perform contract maintenance services

Develop detailed; analytical; digital record keeping, supported by digital photo & computer controller generated technical reports

Assist the sales department with customer interactions such as trade show demonstrations & pre-sales visits and professionally represent OMAX Corporation at all times

Qualifications:
  • Associates degree with emphasis on technical sciences or equivalent
  • 2 years of related experience
  • Team builder, working to share knowledge and accomplish common tasks to standard
  • Excellent customer interaction skills
  • Patience and perseverance to complete all assigned tasks
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently from a remote location
  • Excellent Mechanical and Electrical Control System aptitude
  • Fundamental understanding of Hydraulic & Pneumatic Sciences
  • Able to understand or develop understanding of Water Quality & Treatment Sciences
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD (or similar) drafting software experience
  • Must live within a one-hour driving radius (with traffic) to an International Airport with ability to travel extensively domestically or internationally for 2-3 weeks at a time
  • Current passport and driver's license
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
