Description
Responsible for the oversight and coordination of the annual TIER II facility reporting requirements. Will serve as the agency Quality Assurance (QA) manager. Will serve as the agency Health and Safety coordinator. Responsible for implementation of, maintaining, and educating staff on the Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP): Perform the necessary activities for National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) reviews. Provide support for data assessments and analytics (metrics) for the agency. May also be a member of the Department's Emergency Response Team.

Location of position: 245 Fallbrook Blvd - Lincoln, NE

Work schedule: Monday - Friday - 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. - Flexible Schedules - After 6-month probationary period 10-hour workdays may be available.
Examples of Work

  • Responsible for the oversight and coordination of the annual TIER II facility reporting requirements.
  • Serve as the agency Quality Assurance (QA) manager to review all QA related items and provide coordination with EPA. Serve as the agency Health and Safety coordinator. Responsible for implementation of, maintaining, and educating staff on the Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) and business resumption.
  • Perform the necessary activities for National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) reviews.
  • Provide support for data assessments and analytics (metrics) for the agency.
  • May serve as a member of the Emergency Response Team. On a rotational basis with other members of the team, respond to spills and leaks and complaints.
Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree in the physical sciences, natural sciences, environmental science, geology, biology, agronomy, civil engineering, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, hydrology, community and regional planning, or a related field. Experience may substitute for education or a year-for-year basis.

OTHER: Valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent transportation, ability to travel overnight; ability to climb, bend and stoop; ability to walk on muddy , icy, steep slopes and uneven terrains; ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of: Agency programs, Continuity of Operation processes, Quality Assurance/Quality Control processes, software to support data assessments and analytics (GIS software, statistical software), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Health and Safety practices, data collection and assessment.

Skill in: Communicating with individuals and groups with varying technical backgrounds to collect and relay information; listening to and understanding others; prioritizing workloads; using analytical judgment to make decisions; public speaking and providing presentations.

Ability to: Listen and communicate verbally. Read and interpret technical documents and regulations. Write guidance documents, reports, and correspondence.
