Environmental & Natural Resources Group Leader

What We're Looking For:
Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is seeking an Environmental & Natural Resources Group Leader in the Nashville, TN office. The role is responsible for hiring, managing, developing, and assigning technical resources. The Practice Area Director has responsibility to ensure that skills and capabilities match project needs and drives innovation in quality delivery. The success metrics for this role are utilization, adherence to project budgets, quality, and employee experience. This role supports all disciples across Barge Design Solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Oversight and leadership of technical discipline
• Acts as a technical advisor on various programs and requirements
• Provides input to proposals and Project Management Plans to provide accurate estimates for projects or programs
• Acts as a technical lead on multiple portions of larger complex projects
• Forecasts and develops the technical staff needs to align with business sector growth projections
• Develops standards and guidelines while ensuring compliance and supporting performance measures
• Attends client meetings or manages technical expertise to provide subject matter support
• Works to reduce department projects costs to drive competitive status
• Continues to strengthen relationships with sectors, direct reports, and others
• Plays an active role in advising and executing strategic and business planning activities
• Creates a great work environment for the practice area
• Embraces our Purpose, Vision, and Values and champions this with direct reports
• Performs other duties as requested

Education & Experience Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Graduate degree in environmental science, geology, or environmental engineering from accredited program
• Minimum of 15 years' experience within environmental focused practice
• Applicable registration as required by discipline
• Strong teambuilding and collaboration skills
• Leadership training, preferred
