Gibbs & Cox is seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineerto join our organization in the Spring of 2023.

General Duties

  • Perform detailed technical analyses on (a) Department of Defense programs in support of the U.S. Navy and (b) commercial ship designs. Able to manage schedule and technical product development
  • Solve technical problems in the field of structural engineering.
  • Provide technical knowledge on interdisciplinary teams supporting complex ship design projects.
  • With technical guidance, develop technical specifications, analysis reports, calculations and test procedures for validating system performance.
  • Perform technical analyses using US Navy specifications, Design Data Sheets, Technical Manuals, or commercial rules. Interface with team members.
  • Research documentation and reports, and summarize findings.
  • Develop status reports, technical reports, documentation, and high level briefings.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of products such as analyses, calculations and drawings.
Minimum Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship and must be eligible to be granted a security clearance if required.
  • BS degree or higher in engineering or related field
  • Ability to work independently or as a team member
  • Excellent MS Office skills, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Security Requirements
Applicant will be subject to a security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain a security clearance issued by the US Government. In addition to the security clearance, this position may require an additional background screening for base access.
