Job Summary

The Enterprise Application Architect provides architectural guidance, solutions, principles, standards, and best practices for applications. By developing and communicating architectural deliverables, the Architect will enable business and IT stakeholders to make investment decisions that balance and prioritize current operational demands, disruptions, and opportunities with the longer-term strategic vision of the organization. The Enterprise Application Architect supplies architectural leadership on multiple, complex projects and business technologies. The F&G technology stack is diverse with vendor supplied and internally developed applications. F&G has heavily invested in the Microsoft technology stack. Strong knowledge of the Microsoft technology stack is essential for sound M365 architectural guidance and enablement. The Enterprise Application Architect actively participates in F&G's Architecture Review Board (ARB) sessions and presents solution designs to the ARB for approval.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own and be responsible for a cohesive technology landscape for multiple business domains, within the framework of our enterprise architecture.
  • Engaged at all levels of the SDLC to oversee and guide technology processes, to implement
  • Strategize with business and technology stakeholders to define future-state capabilities and requirements, to be translated into transitional and target state architectures.
  • Develop and promote technical roadmaps to modernize, enhance, and support F&G's a
  • Research current and emerging technology, engaging with other architects to innovate in a risk appropriate manner to accelerate corporate growth.
  • Works with business and IT leaders to understand solution requirements and help them understand how technology trade-offs influence strategy.
  • Evaluates F&G's enterprise applications and technology to develop future-state application enablement, standard processes, and best practices to advance IT and business strategy and capabilities.
  • Ensures that software solutions align with business goals, meet performance requirements, and provide engaging, intuitive user experiences.
  • Actively participate in the Architecture Review Board (ARB) sessions to ensure sound
  • Contribute to strategic roadmap and technical direction of enterprise application enablement including, application security, tools, and solutions architectures.
  • Communicate all architecture and technical decisions, issues, and risks to IT Leadership
  • Work with other architects to create and support architecture policy, standards, and guiding principles, ensuring architecture is consistently delivered and communicated.
  • Contribute to designing systems and solutions in alignment with company vision while creating a bridge between technology and business teams.
  • Leads programs to develop, maintain and govern M365 and Atlassian platform services.
  • Research and provide guidance on configuration and best practices of Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Office suite, Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, Tempo Timesheets, etc.), and other applications.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to streamline and automate business and technical processes within the M365 and Atlassian ecospheres.
Experience and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, related field of study, or similar
  • 10+ years of experience in an enterprise-class Information Technology team working across all aspects including architecture, development, integration, project implementation, and operations.
  • Understanding of secure system design principles, patterns, and practices
  • Experience with a cloud or hybrid platforms such as Azure and AWS
  • Ability to effectively work in support of a complex ecosystem of diverse technology platforms managed by internal resources and vendor partners.
  • Strong capabilities in analyzing commercial software, integration architecture, governance, and cloud-based
  • Deep understanding and firsthand experience with M365 at an enterprise level.
  • Experience with administration of Microsoft Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, Azure Active Directory (AAD), and Atlassian suite.
  • Experience creating and supporting SharePoint Online sites, including external sharing.
  • Experience with automation solutions such as Azure Automation, Power Automate, Power Apps, and Jira
Preferred Requirements
  • MBA, Master of Computer Science, or similar
  • Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, Java, Apache Groovy, or C#
  • Experience with modern software development techniques
  • Experience with Microsoft Information Protection (i.e., Purview)
  • Experience with modern authentication techniques, especially AAD Service Principals
  • Experience with event-driven architecture concepts (messaging, business events, etc.)
  • Experience with application and integration tools such as Informatica, Microsoft, API Gateway, and Github.
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow and the Atlassian suite
  • Knowledge of administration of Microsoft M365 toolset, Exchange Online, Atlassian suite, and various enterprise business applications (e.g., Adobe, Coupa, Concur, Miro, Box, etc.)
  • Knowledge of infrastructure, concepts, and techniques in cloud environments preferred, especially Azure cloud.
  • Experience working in an Agile team structure.
