HYG is looking for an energetic individual who will have a positive influence on the organization and the Operator Station Design team. This role plays an important part in creating, modifying, and implementing designs to address customer needs. The Operator Station system composes all of the features surrounding the operator, such as controls, restraints and protective devices. This engineer will interact with all aspects of the organization, including marketing, manufacturing, supply chain, and test to ensure that we deliver quality forklift trucks that meet customer requirements. Responsibilities:

  • Seeks and provides input to the concept phase of projects.
  • Works on the design of components, assemblies, and systems.
  • Provides product design documentation through the creation of detail drawings, engineering lists and Engineering Change Notices.
  • Integrates input into the design of components, assemblies, or vehicles systems, and may participate in the support of manufacturing activities such as Pilot or 1st Production.
Qualifications:
  • Formal education with a minimum B.S. in Engineering
  • 0-8 years of experience in relevant engineering environment
  • Basic knowledge/skill in vehicle/automotive technology
  • Basic knowledge/skill in drafting practices, CAD (prefer NX & Creo), engineering analysis, design layouts
  • Exposure to, and interest in, industrial equipment (materials handling, automotive, agricultural or similar) is highly desirable.
  • Innovative thinking, troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to Quality: follow established procedures and be attentive to details to ensure accuracy in design, testing and documentation.
  • Decision Making: exhibit good judgment and a realistic understanding of issues; demonstrate ability to take decisive actions to develop product.
  • Systematic Problem solving: demonstrate ability to apply basic principles and methods to resolve product issues.
  • Teamwork and Flexibility: function well in a team environment by working well with other employees and other departments. Solicit opinions from coworkers, support group decisions, and display team spirit. Be open minded and flexible enough to work effectively in an environment where project priorities may shift in response to customer needs.
