JOB FAMILY SUMMARY PURPOSE:


Under the general direction of the Supervisor of Renewables Development and Management is responsible for identifying, analyzing, coordinating, executing, and close–out of projects; responsible for managing and performing maintenance and operations of company owned utility-scale solar facilities; undertaking process improvement initiatives; monitoring, performing feasibility studies, analyzing designs and developing recommendations, pilot projects, and programs on renewables and emerging technologies; performing due diligence reviews on opportunities for energy purchases, technologies investments, research and development of partnerships, and merger and acquisition initiatives; writing business case reports; and other duties as assigned and deemed important by the Manager.



EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in
Engineering


EXPERIENCE:
0-5 years or more experience required.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  1. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience with an electric utility, preferred in the areas of renewables, emergent technologies, transmission and distribution, cost analysis, and process reviews.
  2. One (1) year experience in project management, including creating and executing work plans, project schedules, identifying resource requirements, management of daily project operations, and project budget and close-out.
  3. Experience in process improvement-related work, including analysis, planning, execution, monitoring, and presentation and reporting.
  4. Knowledge of project financial analyses, business case and strategic plan development, and costs/benefits evaluation practices and procedures.
  5. Ability to assess and document status quo conditions and to ascertain and recommend actions for process improvements.
  6. Ability to support the Company’s project management and oversight activities.
  7. Ability to identify, quantify and present risks, costs and benefits associated with projects, and issues.
  8. Ability to research and analyze information related to organizational, financial and technical issues.
  9. Ability to research and analyze information related to electric utility system principles and practices, operations, and applicable rules and regulations.
  10. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and Visio.
  11. Knowledge in various reporting, and budgeting processes.
  12. Knowledge in work process analysis and reengineering methodologies.
  13. Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
  14. Ability to generate credibility with and to present information to management regarding solutions to complex issues.
  15. Ability to perform complex technical studies with little or no technical supervision.
  16. Ability to effectively utilize sound judgment and past studies to analyze complex systems and determine effective solutions to problems.
  17. Ability to document for both engineers and non-engineers the procedures and methodologies used in and the results of complex studies.
  18. Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining deadlines.
  19. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  20. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with officers, managers, fellow employees, and the general public.
  21. Ability to maintain a strong sense of propriety concerning confidential matters.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


  1. Manage assigned projects and tasks, including creating and executing work plans, project schedules, identifying resource requirements, management of daily project operations, and project budget and close-out.
  2. Manage and perform maintenance and operations of company owned utility-scale solar facilities
  3. Conduct project management and project oversight during the construction and commissioning of utility-scale solar projects, battery storage, and other emerging technology projects.
  4. Conduct process improvement-related work, including analysis, planning, execution, monitoring, and presentation and reporting.
  5. Conduct project financial analyses, business case and strategic plan development, and costs/benefits evaluation practices and procedures.
  6. Develop, manage and execute projects and company initiatives from initiation to closing.
  7. Assess and document status quo conditions and to ascertain and recommend actions for process improvement.
  8. Identify, quantify and present risks, costs and benefits associated with projects and issues.
  9. Complies with all applicable Company policies, procedures and code of ethics as well as all applicable governmental laws and regulations to include employment, safety and environmental standards and regulations.
  10. Perform other related tasks that are not included, but are within the context of the duties defined.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  1. The incumbents in this classification are subject to both outside and inside environmental conditions and temperature changes.
  2. May work non-standard hours.
  3. May require travel to Company work sites.
  4. May require out of town travel.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    9. Hearing: Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on machined parts.
    10. Repetitive motions: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
    11. Visual acuity: Color, depth perception and field of vision to include measurement devices for close inspection and analysis.
