Qualifications:
  • Experience as an EL coordinator and will maintain all record keeping systems for all EL students;
  • Have teaching experience working with students who speak multiple languages and have experience supporting young learners;
  • Experience observing lessons and providing feedback to teachers to support access for all students
Responsibilities:
  • Participates in multidisciplinary educational team meetings, IEP team meetings, or other educational team meetings pertaining to EL students and/or issues/concerns.
  • Participates as a member of the educational team to facilitate development and implementation of positive behavior supports and effective instructional practices across
  • regular and special education settings for EL students.
  • Visits assigned classrooms/buildings bi-monthly or more frequently when necessary to observe, provide feedback, guided practice, and/or coordinate specific problem solving
  • activities. 
  • Collaborate with classroom, content, and special education teachers to develop IEPs and ensure that they are implemented effectively.
  • Supports data collection systems and advises the classroom/building team in the implementation of data collection systems and analysis of the data to support data informed decision making and effective instructional practices. 
  • Maintain the district EL roster and assist in gathering and organizing data for district, state, and federal reports as well as organize all screening and WIDA testing according to state guidelines.
  • Provides guidance and training to special education teachers in IEP development, review, and revision. Employ a variety of culturally-responsive teaching practices to provide differentiated EL instruction in reading, writing, listening, and speaking according to students’ English proficiency levels.
