We are seeking an editor to join our Third-Party Content Team. The editor is responsible for acquiring, editing and publishing daily articles written by subject matter experts spanning diverse legal practice specialties. Duties include but are not limited to covering a range of different beats on a daily basis; researching news topics and potential authors; reviewing submissions; executing publishing licenses; communicating with sources, reviewing submissions and editing articles; and developing special series.
This role can be performed anywhere within the United States.
- At least 3 years of journalism experience
- Experience working on deadline in a breaking news environment
- Experience networking with freelance authors to produce articles
- Excellent news judgment
- Strong writing and editing skills, including firm grasp of AP Style and ability to craft heds/ledes
- Ability to quickly distill complex legal issues for a corporate law audience
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with a small team of editors
Qualified candidates will be asked to complete writing and editing tests electronically.
Law360 offers extensive training on legal topics. Business or legal editing experience is preferred but not required. However, professional reporting/editing experience and strong writing and analytical skills are required to succeed in this job.
