This position is for an eDiscovery Data Collection Manager. The successful candidate will be an integral part of DaVita's Information Technology department and its Team eDiscovery (TeD), focusing on IT issues around the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) as related to litigation, agency investigations (both civil and criminal), regulatory and other matters that may arise. The role is to assist in collecting critical data that forms part of the eDiscovery process. This position will report to the Director of Operations System IT.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree
eDiscovery technical certifications preferred, particularly as related to collection
Minimum 5 years eDiscovery experience required
In-house eDiscovery experience preferred
Advanced and demonstrated project management skills, including demonstrated analytical, decision-making and problem solving skills
Proven experience in managing multiple requests for support while insuring stakeholders are satisfied with completeness, accuracy, and timeliness
Broad knowledge of eDiscovery technology and the collection, processing, review and production of ESI
Microsoft Excel expertise required
IBM eDiscovery experience preferred
Good overall knowledge of information security concepts and a clear understanding of their dependencies as related to eDiscovery
Excellent communication skills
Able to function in a team environment, being flexible and responsive to changing priorities, and having an appropriate sense of urgency in completing tasks and projects
Ability to plan, schedule and monitor work, within set targets
Ability to utilize forensic tools to collect, search, recover, sort, and coordinate electronic information in all phases of an investigation or litigation matter
Experience with documenting defensible and repeatable data collection steps
Understanding of evidence collection, evidence handling, and chain of custody
Thorough understanding of metadata and data types, particularly their importance as related to eDiscovery
Proficient in the collection of data from various sources including Windows, Mac, Exchange/O365/Outlook, SharePoint, file shares, e-mail archives, structured data systems, and mobile devices
Experience with AccessData eDiscovery and is preferred
Comprehensive knowledge of database concepts, data modeling and database applications and application of such knowledge in a variety of situations
Understanding of and experience with the identification, collection, and analysis of electronic data, with the goal of preserving evidence in its original form while performing a structured investigation that is legally defensible
Specific eDiscovery IT tasks include:
Using in-house eDiscovery technology for the collection and processing of ESI
Assist from an IT standpoint with the identification, preservation, and collection of data in a legally defensible manner
Assist with the preservation and collection of unstructured, structured, and mobile data
Use AccessData eDiscovery
Use IBM eDiscovery technology for email preservation and collection
Document data preservation and collection steps and other actions taken during each matter, including management of Excel tracking documentation
Managing evidence collection and handling and documenting chain of custody
Assist with educating others about metadata and data types, particularly their importance as related to eDiscovery
Assist in evaluation of eDiscovery related technology
Participate in process improvement initiatives
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure established project deadlines are met
Communicate expectations for scope and deadlines to internal and external stakeholders
Maintain an understanding of eDiscovery and the tools used to support the industry

Salary/Wage Range
$110,000 - $161,000
Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
