Director of Website Applications Development and Administration/Webmaster

Texas A&M University-Commerce seeks a dynamic, collaborative leader to serve as its Director of Website Applications Development and Administration/ Webmaster. The position will serve as a senior member of the Office of Marketing and Communications. The Webmaster serves on strategic committees in support of the strategic plan for the university and actively contributes to fulfill the mission of the university. The Webmaster will contribute to the overall success of A&M-Commerce and the Office of Marketing and Communications through serving as the university's lead technical liaison to university stakeholders and executive management.

The Director of Website Applications Development and Administration/Webmaster will report directly to the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer. Under direction, this position conceives, plans, designs, develops, executes, and manages a wide range of web-internet and intranet-functions and applications that support and increase efforts to fulfill the mission of the Office of Marketing and Communications and the university. Key duties include incorporating responsive web design and technology into all site development; gathering requirements from university departments, faculty, and staff; using revision control software; and ensuring that all web functions are accessibility compliant. The Webmaster possesses advanced technical skills and performs complex coding, development, and archival processes. The Webmaster also manages web development using revision control software.

The successful candidate will be have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or closely related field, or, an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience; eight years of experience in web development/programming with relational databases to produce dynamic web-based applications; five or more years of experience in the use of WordPress; experience with PHP8 (or similar language), MySQL (or similar), Google Cloud Services, JavaScript, React, jQuery, JSON, XML, HTML, CSS, and SCSS; and experience with debugging web including Chrome/Android and mobile Safari. Special consideration will be given to applicants with a Master's degree in related field and experience in a higher education setting.
