The Director of Logistics is responsible for the strategy and tactical execution that will create a world class organization with oversite over warehousing, distribution, inventory, material operations, freight scheduling, customs compliance, and carrier management.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Development and deployment of strategies and tactics for integrated materials management, warehousing and distribution, Freight and transportation management, and customs compliance.
  • Develop and deploy logistics, inventory, and warehousing performance standards that support and align with company strategy and customer expectations
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing. Planning, and Customer Service and other functional stakeholders to keep up with customer/inventory demand
  • Assess current and future operational risks globally and locally, and translate those into strategies, capabilities, best practices, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Ensure continuity of supply to support and achieve on time shipment metrics to our customers.
  • Develop and utilize WMS, MRP and other ERP based systems for material delivery, freight planning, and inventory management in line with achieving quality, delivery, and inventory goals.
  • Coordinate cross functionally with Sales, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Parts organization to ensure that strategies are aligned to support overall business.
  • Execute effective carrier negotiations and sourcing strategies to ensure on time delivery and to drive cost reduction goals.
  • Develops risk mitigation strategies as required to protect supply for key/strategic items.
  • Actively set and drive inventory goals to achieve inventory levels and turns targets.
  • Develops and manages systems to support the production process with accurate and timely information.
  • Manage, lead, and develop the next generation of leadership for Supply Chain.
  • Create and execute a vision for world class logistics team
  • Create an environment of collaboration, outside the box thinking, and creative problem-solving
  • Honor and respect all relationships, both internal and external
  • Make recommendations regarding hiring, promoting, and terminating

What We're Looking For

  • BS Degree in Business or SC Management strongly desired.
  • General warehousing, distribution, material operation, and freight knowledge with 5-10 year management experience.
  • CPSM or CPIM certification desired
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management and multi-task skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in MS office suite (particularly Excel and Power point) and Smartsheets desired.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong Negotiation Skills
