The University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics competes at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics with the vision to reach Next Level Success for all 18 varsity teams and more than 500 student-athletes. The Bearcats have a proud athletics history, winning eight national championships and 117 conference titles. The Cincinnati men's basketball team is among the 15 winningest programs all-time, while the football team became the first American Athletic Conference program to compete in the College Football Playoff in 2021. Olympic gold medalist volleyball player Jordan Thompson, NBA Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson and Major League Baseball legend Sandy Koufax are among the several luminaries who have competed as Bearcats.

UC student-athletes collectively posted a 3.387 overall GPA in the fall of 2021 with 78 percent earning spots on the Honor Roll.

Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati (UC), Department of Athletics seeks applications for a Senior Coordinator Athletic Operations to work in the Operations & Facilities unit. This is a full-time position, salaried, with a comprehensive benefits package.

The successful candidate will be expected to supervise Operations in coordination with Event Management and Facilities peers in the preparation and use of university athletic facilities for practices and events while following all departmental, university, conference, and NCAA policies and regulations.

Essential Functions
  • Coordinate facility setup in various configurations needed for team and group usage. Supervise and assist with setup and tear down of physical facilities, including but not limited to the setup of tables, chairs, stages, lighting, bleachers, baskets, volleyball floor, score tables, etc. Ensure facilities are game day ready.
  • Serve as the Game and Event Manager for a variety of events held in athletic venues.
  • Serve as point of contact for public safety, parking services, facilities management, outside agencies, promoters and visiting teams.
  • Monitor completion and track expenses of work orders for athletic facilities.
  • Hire and train student employees and external labor groups to assist in events and changeovers. Track expenses associated with labor.
  • Responsible for equipment upkeep through regular inspections, tracking, and maintenance coordination. Proposes purchasing plans for replacement of worn out and outdated equipment.
  • Serve as liaison for housekeeping and grounds. Meet regularly with Housekeeping and Grounds Supervisors to discuss daily, weekly, and monthly priorities.
  • Responsible for organization and lay out of athletic controlled storage spaces on main campus and off campus sites.
  • May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.
Required Education
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Six (6) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Required Experience

Two (2) years of related work experience.

Additional Qualifications Considered

The individual in this position must be able to work evening and weekend hours.
