Job Description

The Director, Clinical Operations is a qualified and licensed healthcare professional who provides clinical leadership serving the Travel Nurse and International divisions. This position advises the clinical operations team in supporting clients and clinicians, and collaborates with internal business partners to ensure qualified clinicians are placed. The Director supports pivotal initiatives that result in operational excellence, customer engagement and retention. This Leader serves as a subject matter authority to both internal and external customers and supports as a sales partner to educate customers on our quality programs throughout contract implementation and service delivery.

Job Responsibilities

  • Leads team of Clinical Managers to support clinical operations in congruence with internal operations to meet business needs
  • Delivers training to internal/external customers on clinical and quality policies and procedures and leads projects as assigned to support departmental and organizational pivotal initiatives.
  • Leads client workgroups for Direct Clients and Managed Services Provider (MSP) implementation and ensures standard processes are communicated in a methodical and professional manner
  • Coordinates with Clients Sales or Program Management team to handle client situations effectively; responds urgently to customer concerns that jeopardize assignment completion and makes timely and informed decisions
  • Receives and handles partner concerns on clinician assignment issues; investigates situation gathering all relevant information with clinicians and clients, and partners with internal departments to resolve problems in a harmonious and collaborative framework
  • Provides leadership oversight to the clinician performance evaluation and satisfaction survey processes to promote the quality of clinicians; recognizes clinicians for outstanding performance
  • Designs and implements action plans to engage and retain clinicians and optimize quality performance. Leads business process transformation to improve clinician experience, outcomes and speed to market.
  • Collaborates with Sales Ops team to prepare and deliver client presentations that support the Quarterly Business Review process, emphasizing historical trends in quality and clinical factors
  • Presents cases for specific improvements in client processes in order to improve service delivery, generate cost efficiencies and mitigate risk in alignment with business objectives
  • Supports IT improvements for clinical processes and advocates for automation, interfaces and integrations with systems to optimize data management
  • Demonstrates knowledge of internal AMN policies as well as those relevant to facility, state, federal and accreditation standards.

  • Minimum Education/Licensure:
  • Master's degree in healthcare field of study
  • Active RN license
  • Preferred Education/Certifications
  • Leadership/specialty certification
  • LSS- Yellow belt or Green Belt certification
  • PMP
  • Minimum Experience:
  • 5 years as clinical RN experience in acute care setting
  • 5 years of direct supervisory or managerial responsibility
  • Preferred Experience
  • MSP Staffing Services
  • Experience working with healthcare staffing
  • Prior project management experience
  • Prior change management experience

Pay Rate
$140,000 - $166,000 Salary
Final pay rate is dependent on experience, training, education, and location.
