Position Overview

The School of Earth Sciences invites applications for the position of Director. This is a tenured faculty position at the Full Professor level. The Director leads a comprehensive and diverse program of Earth Science research and education while fostering a collegial atmophere among students, staff, and faculty. In addition, the Director is expected to work with other leaders to advance the School's goals and promote the School both within and outside the University.

Education and Experience Requirements

Required: Ph.D. in Earth Sciences or related field; evidence of an independent research program and demonstrated research productivity; demonstrated excellence in teaching. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to building a culturally diverse intellectual community, in line with OSU's Shared Values (see below).

Desired: Strong track record as a mentor for both students and early career faculty; experience with interdisciplinary research; administrative and/or academic leadership experience.
