Reporting directly to the Sr Director, Controller , the Director, Accounting oversees all accounting activities, partnering with finance, the business, and CDK Global to ensure a timely close with a high degree of accuracy and integrity. This director will help drive transformation and improvements to the accounting process that yield efficiencies and value-add analysis while maintaining a sound internal control environment.

The Director, Accounting is responsible for, however not limited to, the following:

• Own the internal control environment for the areas of responsibility for the position, including developing, implementing and maintaining strong controls
• Enhance and further develop team, working cross functionally with other corporate and field organizations
• Lead the Corporate Accounting team including financial accounting, fixed assets and debt
• Oversee the month-end close and account reconciliation processes, reviewing procedures to drive efficiency
• Collaborate cross functionally to provide analysis supporting the preparation of internal and external reports
• Monitor emerging financial accounting and reporting issues and supports Technical Accounting to determine impacts and facilitate adoption of new standards
• Manage relationship with external auditors, including driving efficiency in the audit process where possible
• Coordinate the efforts of external actuaries to ensure accurate accounting for the Company's benefit plans and insurance reserves
• Partners with offshore accounting staff to deliver a timely, accurate and compliant close process
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement with a focus on opportunities to simplify and automate
• Communicates effectively and builds strong relationships throughout the organization
• Assists with special projects and M&A as needed

Qualifications & Attributes:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required or equivalent in education and experience, CPA strongly preferred
• 10+ years of progressive growth in accounting/auditing related roles
• Strong analytical, communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills
• Intellectually curious and driven to execute
• Commitment to highest standards of quality and integrity
• Knowledge of accounting ERP systems and consolidation tools [preferred]
• Must be open to periodic onsite meetings local to the Hoffman Estates, IL office

Base Salary Range: $164,000 - $200,000

CDK Global is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Compensation packages are based on several factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, certifications, and work location.
