Overview

The Developer III is a senior IT systems integration position with responsibilities to develop, support and maintain custom applications and the integration of applications and services across the credit union, with emphasis on automating business processes and developing cloud based solutions. The Developer III is responsible for developing, implementing and troubleshooting custom solutions to ensure integrity, quality and availability of software.

Responsibilities

  • Create custom software solutions to support organizational goals, projects, system implementations, and the on-going management of technology
  • Lead and champion the migration of existing software solutions applications to public cloud providers through re-factorization and developing new architectures as needed.
  • Develop and support software solutions for automations of manual processes, integrations of data b
  • etween multiple systems, and stand-alone solutions to assist business units with efficiencies
  • Enhance the Fiserv DNA Core and the Alkami online banking solutions using vendor SDKs and APIs Follow the established software development lifecycle to include requirements analysis, design, planning, implementation, testing, deployment, and sustainment
  • Follow software development standards, guidelines, conventions, policies, and procedures to include change control and change management
  • Collaborate with internal system users and external technical personnel as necessary to complete development and relevant support tasks
  • Leverage continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines for build, testing, and deployment automations
  • Plan, monitor, and report on deliverables to include developed software, unit testing, integration testing, and deployment
  • Evaluate delivered solutions and enhancements to ensure any issues have been adequately resolved
  • Work independently and collaboratively to perform root cause analysis of software and system issues with multiple levels of granularity
  • Analyze software performance issues, recommend solutions, and implement approved configuration and software changes
  • Mentor, support, and assist with the coaching and training of new software developers
  • Lead peer reviews of developed enhancements, updates, patches, and new solutions
  • Protect the confidentiality and integrity of financial sensitive information and maintain the technical mechanisms of legitimate access and release of the data to meet the requirements of the Gramm-Leach Bliley Act (GLBA)
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Remains cognizant of and adheres to NWFCU policies and procedures as well as regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)

Qualifications

Required
  • Minimum 10 years of experience working as a developer with strong working knowledge of industry standard and emerging cloud development technologies, languages and platforms
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of the full software lifecycle, agile software development methodologies, and object oriented development
  • Direct leadership experience championing the migration of developed software and processes to public cloud providers (Amazon or Microsoft), including creating new architectures and refactoring implementations
  • Demonstrated strong skills in technical leadership, verbal and written communication, coaching, analysis, problem solving
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis in problem solving and design efforts
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team environment building good working relationships and effectively manage multiple tasks
  • Must have excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Skilled at writing clear and concise requirements documentation and training materials, understanding user requirements, and implementing solutions
  • Capable of applying common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral or diagram form
  • Experienced in dealing with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations, and comprehending and documenting a complex legacy application
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and understand complex network concepts
  • Extensive experience developing solutions with .NET
  • Experience developing and consuming REST and SOAP web services
  • Experience developing scalable applications using n-tier architecture
  • Experience developing batch processes
Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related Information Technology field
  • Experience with containerization tools such as Kubernetes and Docker
  • Certifications: Azure, AWS, .NET
  • Knowledge of database systems and data analytic techniques (SQL Server, Hive and Oracle)
  • Proficient in SQL scripting
  • Financial industry, banking or credit union IT experience
  • Experience with Fiserv DNA core, Lodestar Data Warehouse, Fiserv Frontier Reconciliation
  • Experience with report processing tools such as Monarch
