Mercer's Wealth business is seeking candidates for the following position based in one of the Mercer locations in the West market:

Defined Contribution Associate

What can you expect?

  • Work in a team environment supporting defined contribution plans
  • Coordinate production of reports and initial review with report generation team, based on the meeting date or a deadline set by the consultant
  • Facilitate the creation of new client report templates
  • Understand all report sections and measurements
  • Prepare additional discussion to be utilized in presentations
  • Research strategies using accepted research sources

We will count on you to:
  • Support client team in regular and project work: including agendas, thought leadership, additional projects, stewardship, compliance or efficiency as needed
  • Address delegated client calls and emails regarding vendor service issues, administration questions, including irregular or urgent matters
  • Uncover potential service solutions. Assist in the creation of Request for Information (RFI), Request for Proposals (RFPs). Coordinate special projects conducted through other lines of business (Executive Benefits, Career, Non-Qualified Plans, etc.)
  • Prepare all necessary documents for RFI and RFP projects. Field general plan questions from bidding vendors. Facilitate and attend conversion calls for advisor
  • Manage applicable action items after client meeting.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage tasks to meet critical deadlines
  • Collaborate with your peers as needed
  • Identify areas opportunities where deliverables can be enhanced or improved
  • Seek areas of interest to improve your skills and continue your professional growth

What you need to have:
  • 1 - 3+ years or more experience
  • A strong desire to be in the defined contribution space, including fiduciary topics, investments, plan design trends, administrative practices, employee engagement and retirement readiness trends, and the broad range services providers
  • Strong Analytical and mathematical skills
  • General understanding of investments
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a demanding work environment
  • Ability to work independently and on a team

What will make you stand out:
  • Experience with 403(b) - Non-Profit Organizations, 457(b) - Government, and 401(k) plans
  • Either have or desire to obtain FINRA license 6 or 7

The applicable base salary range for this role is $58,700 to $117,500.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
