Primary Function of Position:

The primary objective for this position is provide troubleshooting, testing and repairs a variety of products, as well as serve as a technical subject matter expert within RMA area of operation.  Will work closely with fellow team members, including Final test and Failure analysis leads and supervisor/manager to achieve team performance goals in the areas of First Pass Yield and Failure Analysis issue replication

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Repair/Recertify/test or evaluate a variety of products according to standard work instructions and prints
  •  Diagnose Failures on system manufacturing RMA lines  ( FRU level failures, Sub-Assembly failures)
  • Perform failure analysis to component level and investigate root cause. Recommend corrective/preventive actions
  • Operate and set up (as needed), production equipment/fixtures.
  • Set up and maintain debug cell, keeping space, equipment and work in process organized
  • Cross-train or mentor others in areas of expertise (as needed).
  • Properly complete manufacturing documentation as needed.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in area of creation and execution of quality notifications ( PL,VR,NCR)
  • Actively participate on cross-functional teams as a Service Manufacturing representative to drive area requirements ( as needed)
  • Manage high priority assignments as requested by area supervisor/manager  
  • Work closely with Engineering to resolve repair issues and actively participate in quality improvement initiatives as needed.
  • Assist area supervisor/manager with MPI modifications ( as needed)
  • Support various process improvement initiatives that involve a Service Operations based team.
  • Evaluate designs for reparability (with respect to tooling and assembly methods).  Provide suggested change proposals, or tooling concepts during early design process phase to Engineering.
  • Act as point of contact for technical issues and questions in area of failure analysis, repair or final testing.
  • Follow all corporate, regulatory, safety and production policies and procedures.
  • Maintain an excellent attendance record.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:

  • Minimum Experience: 5 years of troubleshooting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum AS degree, trade school, military technical training or equivalent.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in Agile, Matlab, DTE and SAP
  • Must demonstrate proficiency at quality record documentation (PL, NC, VR)
  • Must demonstrate ability to communication effectively with other team members
  • Must demonstrate understanding of advanced operational principles of assemblies upon which training has been completed
  • Must demonstrate ability to diagnose possible root cause failure modes of assemblies upon which training has been completed
