RESPONSIBILITIES:
A Kforce client is seeking to hire a DBA (Azure/SQL) in Columbus, Georgia (GA).Summary:In this role you will be the subject matter expert of the Database Platform team in their adoption and usage of Azure for their database environments. The initial responsibilities will be split in half with SQL DBA functions and Azure functions but over time as usage increases will shift more to Azure.Responsibilities include:- Install, configure, and administer database software within a multi database client/server environment
- Implement and administer cloud platform database and data warehouse solutions using automation, scripting, and infrastructure as code
- Work within cross-functional teams to implement ci/cd practices in support of data solutions
- Maintain a working understanding and ability to apply cloud specific security controls to database services on public cloud platforms
- Responsible for database recovery methodologies and the ability to perform each
- Establish and may administer database security
- Monitor and optimize database performance
- Create and/or tune complex queries
- Review and assess the impact of database design changes prior to their implementation
- Provide technical expertise in the design and development of complex SQL
- Plan and implement database disaster recovery
- Perform long-term strategic planning for: database growth, upgrades, OS upgrades, hardware capacity, and hardware migrations
- Owns development, testing, maintenance, and integration of application, systems, and data
- Leverages integration tools to build, maintain, and implement our data warehouse solutions
- Gets to know the supported business area(s), have an awareness of related objectives and challenges
- Works as an internal consultant, and mentors to more junior with task-level leadership, guidance, and direction
- Pursue continuous process improvements
REQUIREMENTS:
- Understand the application use of the associated databases and database technologies
- Remain current with the state of major cloud vendors' database service offerings
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
