Position Purpose:

The Director, Internet of Things - DB&T (informally referred to as Chief IoT Officer) will provide a strategy covering IoT for Veolia North America. The Chief IoT Officer will be responsible for overseeing the company's IoT initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and providing guidance and leadership to cross-functional teams.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the company's IoT strategy, including identifying and evaluating IoT opportunities that align with business objectives.
  • Lead the development and execution of IoT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to cross-functional teams, including DB&T Domains, Technical and Performance, marketing, and sales, to ensure alignment with IoT strategy.
  • Stay current on emerging IoT technologies and trends and evaluate their potential impact on the business.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, vendors, and industry associations to stay informed of industry trends and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations regarding IoT security and privacy.
  • Prepare and present IoT strategy and progress reports to executive leadership and stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the CTO and other members of the executive leadership team to ensure the company's overall technology strategy is aligned with business goals.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Director of IoT Solutions or a similar role.
  • Strong background in IoT technologies, including experience with IoT platforms and protocols.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team of engineers and developers.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) and project management methodologies.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of artificial intelligence use cases to enhance customer experience.
  • Knowledge of IoT integration use cases to improve operational efficiency and security.
  • Knowledge of latest technology and cybersecurity advances and practices.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Work/Physical Requirements:

  • Regular Veolia North America hybrid policy (home / office).
  • Travel 40% of the time (both domestic and international).
