ECS is seeking a Database/Systems Engineer to work in our Stafford, VA office.

Job Description:
ECS is seeking a TS-cleared Database/Systems Engineer to join our team supporting the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS) on-site in Stafford/Quantico, VA.

The ideal candidate has technical expertise in database management and a broad level of systems support experience. Duties include production support, installation, configuration, upgrades, patches, migration, backup and recovery, performance tuning and security management. We work in a collaborative environment and the engineer must be willing to interact with other people at all levels throughout the organization, but also demonstrate the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:

• Provide MS SQL Server environment administration and support
• Develop and maintain SQL scripts and queries in Microsoft SQL Server
• Review application and event logs
• Coordinate and manage data used for testing
• Support standard DBA tasks related to deploying and configuring databases
• Security Management of SQL Server environments in accordance with DOD/NIST standards
• Assist in managing and monitoring all installed systems and infrastructure
• Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies for database infrastructure
• Maintain technical documentation to include system configurations

Required Skills:

• Active Top-Secret Clearance
• 5+ years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server administration and support
• Experience with SQL scripting
• Experience configuring and implementing SQL backup and recovery procedures and policies
• Implementation of DoD STIG requirements on MS SQL Server
• Background in maintaining compliance with applicable STIGS
• Experience with testing/maintaining database validity and integrity
• Experience with database indexing
• Experience with data migration

Desired Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree, preferred
• Experience with SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services)
• Experience with PowerShell
• Familiarity with setting up and managing virtualized environments
