Facebook is seeking an experienced Data Center Capacity Analyst with Planning and Operations Research experience to join the Strategic Planning & Analytics team (SP&A). In this role you'll be part of the team that develops the data center roadmap and scaling strategies for one of the most fast-growing infrastructure in the world. You will evaluate critical capacity planning changes and develop data-driven plans that encompass space and power planning, and maintain the plan of record for Facebook's global data center program. In this role, you will work closely with our data center operations teams and capacity engineering teams to create the tactical planning and capacity turn-up programs, you will help develop new tools and processes to improve global capacity planning. You will support the analysis of new initiatives and drive the implementation of new data center strategies and planning changes. You will also help define and develop dashboards, reporting processes, and data visualizations to deliver insights across several planning areas.Tens of billions of user requests, hundreds of petabytes of data, thousands of Giga bps of network flow, welcome to the amazingly largest Internet service in the world!
  • Work cross-functionally to define problem statement, collect data, build analytical models and make recommendations
  • Perform financial, statistical, and qualitative data analysis on data center supply strategies
  • Build performance dashboards and visualizations to highlight trends, and develop insights
  • Create quantitative models reporting business trends across the data center space
  • Automate data collection, develop and maintain analytical models, and generate reports and dashboards that measure the performance of Facebook's data centers
  • Work with capacity engineering groups and partner with field teams to coordinate and produce capacity turn-up schedule
  • Work with the data center teams and various stakeholders to create the relevant metrics for measuring and monitoring the business
  • Lead and support various ad hoc projects, as needed, in support of Facebook's data center strategy
  • B.S. in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of experience with an emphasis on Operations Research, Supply Chain Management, Capacity Planning, or Business Analytics
  • Experience using SQL, Perl, Python, Unix/Linux, Visual Basic or other programming languages
  • Experience using data access tools and building dashboards using datasets and sources
  • Experience leveraging Excel to drive data-driven insights for the business
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting data, drawing conclusions, defining recommended actions, and reporting results across diverse stakeholders
  • Experience using data driven models for the purposes of developing forecasts and strategic plans
  • Program Management experience
  • Masters Degree
