Job Summary

We are currently seeking a full-time Customer Service Representative for our Houston, TX Location. This position will work Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (the hours could be flexible). This position involves serving customers by providing product and service information, resolving product and service problems, processing orders, and serving as an ambassador (customer advocate) between the customer and the company.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Provides day to day management of established customers including quote creation through order processing, including, but not limited to:
o Verbal Communication (Ex. Phone calls)
o Written Communication (Ex. Email)
• Responsibility for processing orders include:
o Applying proper manufacturing standards to customer requests
o Reading customer diagrams that include product and part specifications
o Order creation and input into AS400 system
o Troubleshooting or researching customer issues
• Coordinate between sales and production and prioritizing activities to meet customer deadlines
• Communicate and follow-up with customers to determine expected delivery date and time
• Resolve product or service problems by clarifying customer's complaint; determining the cause of the problem; selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem; expediting correction or adjustments; and following up to ensure resolution
• Answer telephone promptly and transfer callers to appropriate departments
• Greet customers in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner through written and verbal communication
• Other duties as assigned
• Regular and predictable attendance, the ability to safely perform tasks, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of the job

Requirements

• Basic Windows® based computer skills and an ability to type numbers with accuracy
• Mathematical skills, including ability to read fractions and decimals
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Organized, self-starter with the ability to handle numerous projects, phones, prioritize workload & work with minimal supervision
• Must be able to communicate effectively & conduct oneself professionally, excellent written & verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a team setting with individual responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bilingual
• At least one (1) year of experience in a manufacturing, construction, or technical based customer service environment
• Ability to learn how to read customer diagrams that include product and part specifications
• Prior experience with Microsoft Outlook
