Position Purpose:

To lead a segment of the organization’s quality function in a multi-site role while partnering with manufacturing and customers to lead the development and promotion of best practices, continuous improvement projects, quality specifications, procedures, and training tools to optimize product and process quality to deliver value and an excellent experience for our customers.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.

Education, Experience, and Skills:


* Undergraduate degree in Quality, Engineering, Business or related discipline
* Minimum of 7 years of manufacturing experience or quality experience
* Must have experience using statistical process control techniques, continuous improvement practices, and project management software
* Experienced based knowledge of quality management systems and supporting skill sets including manufacturing risk analysis, capability assessment, and process control techniques
* Experience with six sigma and lean methodologies a plus
* Excellent PC skills in a network environment; Microsoft products experience a must. Experiential knowledge of Oracle ERP systems a plus.
* Track record of successful project management that has resulted in measurable product and process improvements within a manufacturing environment
* Ability to interpret customer feedback and implement data driven corrective actions through a team environment or as an individual contributor
* Outstanding planning, organizational, and time management skills
* Demonstrated problem solving skills using analytical and creative thinking

Essential Functions:


* Leads quality improvement projects that successfully address root cause of an issue and improves our customers’ experience
* Actively engages with multi-functional teams to lead projects to develop and implement product and process improvements
* Collaborates and directs work (without authority) of other Plant Quality Managers to identify root cause and resolve customer related quality issues
* Participates in product quality planning and development of manufacturing process controls to meet customer’s specifications and requirements
* Communicates with customers in a timely fashion regarding the status of quality issues or any requests
* Utilizes data analytics to identify trends for customer returns including product damage, defectives, and markdowns and collaborates with CX and accounts personnel to initiate corrective and preventive actions to mitigate impact to our customers
* Works with The Home Depot and Lowe’s process engineers to initiate and complete customer corrective action requests including but not limited to CAPAs and SCARS. Leads continuous improvement initiatives and meetings with customer quality teams
* Partners with the manufacturing and engineering teams to develop and implement quality specifications and process controls along with supporting SOPs and training to sustain customer corrective actions and continuous improvement solutions within the manufacturing processes
* Utilizes customer experience feedback loops such as Sales Force, Qualtrics, Bazaar Voice, warranty claims and Customer Care data to identify root causes of poor customer experiences and leads cross-functional teams to develop solutions
* Manages and reports progress for product quality and customer experience improvement activities and issues regular progress reports for actions completed
* Works with corporate and plant quality managers to improve quality management systems based on product and process audit results
* Provides leadership for communicating customer and industry product requirements and compliance to them.
* Assists with developing annual department expense/capital budgets and assists with developing corporate quality vision and annual goals
* Actively leads projects and strongly engages with team members and the team’s objectives
* Role model for our company culture and supporting values
* Conducts work activities within the framework of the company vision
* Performs other tasks as directed by direct supervisor

* Superior communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to listen and communicate effectively with internal and external customers/clients in an effort to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers/clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community and public. Ability to develop and effectively communicate presentations to plant leadership or executive level teams
* Ability to apply advanced mathematical skills to analyze and interpret manufacturing, financial, and customer performance data and metrics. Ability to apply statistical techniques to analyze data and effectively communicate direction and actions to solve complex problems.
* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, drawings/blueprints, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 20 pounds. This specific job requires visual capability to critically evaluate color and identify product defects and aesthetics
* Typical indoor office environment with the ability to work in a manufacturing environment and use and adhere to all PPE requirements.
* Up to 25% out-of-town travel is possible. Occasional weekend work required.
