Job Description
The Corporate Controller is responsible for reporting and analyzing the consolidated financial results of Alchemee to both local and global Galderma management and providing support on financial reporting requirements to internal customers. This position will work with cross-functional teams throughout the organization to ensure accurate and timely delivery of requirements and consistent use of Alchemee's reporting policies and systems.

The Corporate Controller manages a staff of six (both onsite at Alchemee headquarters in El Segundo, CA and at Galderma US headquarters in Fort Worth, TX) ensuring adequately trained resources to meet all reporting requirements and for further development of the team members.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyzes and reports Alchemee consolidated financial results. Gathers and interprets financial information effectively and forms data into meaningful and concise analyses while considering a broad range of interdependent issues. Financial reporting requirements include actual results (monthly, quarterly, and annual). Users include local management and global management.
  • Manages core accounting/finance processes/functions including Revenue, COGS, Accounts Payable, Accruals, Payroll, GL, Fixed Assets, Consolidation, Risk Management and Tax. Applies a solid understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Standards (US GAAP) and/or International Accounting Standards (IAS),
  • Researches and interprets financial reporting guidelines and provides guidance to operating divisions and functional groups, as needed.
  • Coordinates information requests related to interim, year-end audits
  • Coordinates with affiliates to ensure accuracy and consistency in reported intercompany results.
  • Oversees internal control environment, implementing policies and procedures to ensure conformance and compliance with Alchemee standards.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local legislation.
  • Coordinates users' requests for ad-hoc financial reports and analysis.
  • Identifies areas for change and makes recommendations while managing multiple demands and competing priorities.
  • Provides guidance for proper accounting treatment as questions arise from the business.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Requirements
  • BA/BS in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting or related field required
  • Ten (10) or more years of progressive experience in Accounting/Finance required
  • Three (3) or more years of experience managing and directing teams is required
  • Public Accounting experience preferred
  • CPA or Chartered Accountant preferred
  • Proficient in MS Windows, including intermediate Excel and Word, and basic PowerPoint and Access;
  • Oracle/Oracle Cloud experience
  • Subject Matter Expert in the area of Financial Reporting
  • Expert knowledge of financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, cash flow and footnotes thereto
  • Solid knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Standards (US GAAP) or International Accounting Standards (IAS) assumptions, principles and constraints (i.e. economic equity, going concern, monetary unit, periodic reporting, historical cost, revenue recognition, matching, full disclosure, cost-benefit relationship, materiality, and conservatism)
  • Solid understanding of financial concepts & principles including cash flow, NPV, IRR, ROI, Economic Profit, etc.
  • Knowledge of the principles of cost accounting and activity-based costing, where required
  • Proven ability to perform balance sheet & profit/loss account reconciliations & analysis
  • Advanced financial modeling skills
