PUPROSE OF THIS POSITION
The primary purpose of your job position is to prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, Independence House policies and procedures, Independence House ethical statement and resident rights, subject to the employee handbook, and as may be directed by the Food Service Director and/or Dietitian to assure that quality food service is provided at all times.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
During the performance process, please assess the level at which the staff member achieves the job accountabilities. Please use the 'Comments' section to document specific examples of performance issues, staff member's strengths and/or shortcomings, areas of suggested performance improvement and other comments as appropriate to further the staff member's growth and development.
Duty 1: Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide dietary services appropriate to needs of the residents served.
Duty 2: Demonstrates leadership in variable situations and personal accountability for performance to ensure quality food service is given to each and every customer.
Duty 3: Maintains the dietary department in a safe sanitary manner. Assists and direct daily cleaning duties.
Duty 4: Prepare meals as specified by the recipe or therapeutic diet ensuring that they are presentable in appearance as well as palatable.
Duty 5: Prepares food in accordance with specialized recipes and special order diets, and ensure that given to correct resident.
Duty 6: Ensure that supplies and food are available for the next meal; establish a food production line etc. to ensure that meals are prepared on time.
Duty 7: Adhere to unit standards of dress, and attend scheduled meetings as well as all mandatory competency training.
Duty 8: Displays service excellence as evidenced by practicing the mission, vision, and values of the organization to promote resident satisfaction.
Duty 9: Complies with organizational policies, procedures, and practices to ensure quality job performance and regulatory compliance.
Duty 11: All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
