Position Summary

The Controller will be responsible for providing financial expertise and leadership to support the business, protecting the assets and interests of the Cretex shareholders. This position will serve as a strong business partner, providing financial leadership, guidance and assistance to the executive team and functional leaders. The Controller will coordinate operating company accounting functions and mentor staff.
Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions

  • Plan, direct and coordinate all accounting operational functions
  • Ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual business unit and consolidated financial reports are completed accurately and on time
  • Support the annual strategic and operating plan process by creating budgets, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data and trends to assist with forecasting future impact
  • Support business unit and consolidated forecasting processes that accurately predict future performance and motivate actions to ensure business targets are achieved
  • Develop and maintain functional and business unit reporting systems that accurately depict performance of key business and financial parameters
  • Work closely with functional and business unit leaders in conducting detailed financial and business analyses to support business needs and identify potential problems, determine root causes, and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Evaluate, identify, and implement process and system changes required across business units to standardize and consolidate
  • Analyze capital expenditure proposals and ensure investments are supported by sound financial projections and plans
  • Develop and maintain appropriate internal controls across all operating units and consolidated business to minimize organizational risks
  • Maintain and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
  • Achieve satisfactory financial audit results by external and internal auditors
  • Attract and develop talented accounting and finance team members
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with management team and grow their financial acumen
  • Provide leadership, direction, and processes to drive cash flow velocity
  • Monitor working capital trends and, where appropriate, implement improvement recommendations and ensure metrics and countermeasures are developed and implemented
  • Partner with Cost Accountant to ensure inventory valuation and cost rates are accurate and understood by functional leaders
  • Provide on-going analysis and reporting of inventory levels, turns and E&O
  • Support and ensure the successful and accurate execution of cycle counts and inventory reserve analysis
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives across the company
  • Improve speed, accuracy, and productivity of transactional and closing processes
  • Assist operations management in identifying meaningful metrics (financial and non-financial) and methods to keep score
  • Implement internal review processes to identify performance gaps to plan, conduct root cause analyses, and implement countermeasures
  • Ensure local, state, and federal government and other compliance reporting requirements and tax filings are timely filed

Minimum Requirements, Education & Experience (incl. KSA's and certifications)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 10 years of experience in an accounting leadership role
  • 5 years of experience in a mid to large manufacturing environment
  • Strong management and supervisory experience
  • Sound knowledge of accounting and financial management principles and regulations
  • Manufacturing cost accounting experience
  • Experience with multiple business units and consolidated reporting
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, project management and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to identify problems, determine root cause, process information, generate possible solutions and provide recommendations to resolve
  • Experience with collaborating across departments/business units and driving results
  • Deep knowledge of business and financial systems software
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills

Desirable Criteria & Qualifications
  • Master's Degree
  • Medical device manufacturing experience
  • Contract manufacturing experience
  • Continuing Education; including participation in local chapters, associations, and/or organizations
Physical & Environmental Demands

Cretex Companies use cutting oils, solvents, and other chemicals in the manufacturing process. Testing is conducted on a periodic basis to ensure that all chemicals are kept well below the OSHA permissible exposure levels.
