POSITION SUMMARY:

Maximize market penetration in all product lines by cultivating current customer base and developing new accounts within areas of responsibility assigned by Area Sales Director.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Keep customers and/or potential customers fully informed about company products and their capabilities in relationship to their continuing needs.

Engage in prebid activity and provide job cost estimates.

Secure sales and rental orders on concrete construction projects within areas of responsibility assigned by Area Sales Director.

  • Complete customer Application for Credit and forward to Area Sales Director to channel to Credit Department for approval. Credit applications are required on all new customers.
  • The Contractor Sales Manager is to prepare the standard written Proposal Form or Lease Agreement for acceptance by the customer.
  • The Contractor Sales Manager is responsible for obtaining a signed Lease Agreement or Proposal Form covering each job.
  • The Contractor Sales Manager is responsible for completing a new job information sheet for each new job sold.
  • Provide the branch order desk with a completed order form, which includes bill of materials and delivery date information for each order on the job, after the above approvals have been secured.
Provide the following services to active customers:
  • Insure customer receipt of application guides and provide to customer if needed.
  • Be at the jobsite at the time of the first delivery, if at all possible.
  • Instruct jobsite personnel in proper use and application of company products.
  • Visit the jobsite as needed to insure proper application and that company equipment is being maintained properly; but these visits should occur no less than twice a month.
  • Assist jobsite personnel with billing problems, conversion possibilities, shortages and damage clarification and additional equipment, as required.
  • When the job is closing, maintain close correspondence with customer to ensure that all equipment is accounted for.
  • Notify Area Sales Director and/or appropriate branch administrative personnel when job should be closed and follow-up to assure correct final billing.
  • Arrange for material take-offs.
  • Arrange for application engineering services, or technical layouts, where required.
  • Coordinate delivery activities through branch order desk to assure that the proper inventory will be delivered at the specified time and in the correct amounts.
Provide appropriate input on field activity and forecast customer demand to the Area Sales Director on a continuing and timely basis.

Provide management with pertinent information on competitive activity within area of responsibility.
Provide required reports to management on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy such as sales call reports, expense reports, mileage reports and itineraries, on a weekly basis. Other reports such as large job reports and lost job reports are to be submitted as required.

Assume responsibility for requesting specialized assistance through the Area Sales Director from personnel functionally responsible, i.e., Dealer Sales Manager, etc., to assure success of the total sales effort.

Be responsible for all Accounts Receivables and maintaining their current status; notify Area Sales Director when credit liabilities are suspicioned.

Prior to quoting or commitment to customer, secure pricing, terms, and delivery approval from management as required. No action to quote customer is to take place until approval is received.

Initiate Adjustments of Customer Account with complete, accurate information concerning problems and recommend necessary action to Area Sales Director to channel to various levels of approval. Disputes are to be resolved on a timely basis.

Keep abreast of industry state of art and pursue self-development and academic educational programs. Forward through the Area Sales Director, copies of completion certificates to the Corporate Human Resources Department in Miamisburg.

Investigate and provide accurate, complete information concerning form failure, breakouts, tie failure, shoring failures and job accidents. This should be covered via standard reports to the VP of Engineering with immediate verbal reporting to our VP Sales.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/EXPEREINCE:
  • BA/BS degree in Business Administration with concentration in marketing, engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum two years' experience in sales (inside or outside) preferable with a manufacturer

Must be capable of walking extensively on jobsites, in factories, and through distribution centers.
