Position Summary

The Continual Improvement Leader is responsible for the delivery of process innovation and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple product lines within the organization. The successful candidate will play an important role in helping to foster a culture of sustainable change through the creation and embedding into the organization lean methodologies, and the supporting framework, to deliver ongoing business transformation.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and deliver improvement activities across the business through employment of process improvement methodologies and the application of innovative problem-solving
  • Be capable of leading and facilitating Lean/Process Improvement-based workshops to drive ideas and solutions
  • Support the delivery of better value and greater efficiency through the identification and elimination of unnecessary complexity within business processes and identification of better ways of working
  • Work with other team members and departments to devise new support material based on revised processes, to include training, reporting and system enhancements
  • Actively monitor project risks to foresee/identify potential problems and proactively identify solutions to address in advance
  • Assist in development and implementation of “best in class” continual improvement strategy to support an ongoing program of change

Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience: 10+ years of proven experience in continuous improvement from a similar role, including project management and business analysis
  • 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field OR
    • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 15 years of related experience
  • High level of proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Visio
  • Excellent understanding of continual improvement concepts, including Six Sigma, Lean, Value Stream Mapping, Visual Work Management, Standard Work, One-Piece Flow, A3 Problem Solving, etc.
  • Demonstrated capability of hands-on implementation of continual improvement programs and lean solutions
  • Experience in identification of productivity and efficiency issues, designing process improvements, and a track record of following through to ensure closure and sustainment
  • Strong analytical and project management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into operational requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to set up, facilitate and lead continual improvement activities with a range of business stakeholders
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of this position

Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Master’s Degree preferred
  • Operations Management experience preferred
  • Aerospace and Defense experience highly valued
  • Experience in designing/implementing a framework of continual improvement in a matrixed organization
  • Experience in working in a low volume/high mix manufacturing environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact with broad, diverse group of team members
