SUMMARY

The Construction Laborer provides support to Chickasaw Strategic Pointe, LLC (CSP), This position provides construction and operation system support for the installation and engineering of various electrical power equipment and fuel systems for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position will require travel up to 80% of the time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Works under minimal supervision and communicates courteously and pro-actively.

Performs all duties according to prescribed safety procedures and uses appropriate safety equipment.

May be required to operate various pieces of equipment (i.e., dump truck and trailer, backhoe, excavator, loader, bulldozer, etc.).

Tows various trailers.

Provides support for crews during all phases of construction activity.

Holds base knowledge of construction.

Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to any training made available by the company.

Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.

Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

High School diploma or GED and minimum of two (5) years' of experience with construction, excavation and equipment operation. The following equipment is a plus, but not required: Mini Excavators, Skid Steers, and Man Lifts.

CERTIFICATES / LICENSES / REGISTRATION

Class A CDL Driver's License is a plus

Electrical Journeyman's License is a plus

Experienced equipment operator is a plus

Experience in fuel storage tank installation is a plus

Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing

JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

Ability to work under minimal supervision and communicate courteously and pro-actively.

Ability to listen to and implement directions.

Knowledge of operation and maintenance of all equipment.

Knowledge of electrical installations.

Knowledge of fuel storage tank installations.

Knowledge of underground construction practices.

Knowledge of health and safety regulations, practices and procedures.

Ability to identify and use the tools required for maintaining and servicing the drill, drill stem, and rack as well as the ability to diagnose and/or relay any problems to a certified repair technician.

Ability to read and interpret construction and engineering plans.

Ability to accurately sketch and record field notes and computations for as-builts.

Ability to perform and/or instruct entry-level skills and practices as required.

Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions.

Effective listening, interacting and writing skills.

Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to effectively work both individually and in a team environment.

Ability to travel to client worksites on as needed basis (approximately 80% of time).

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

The ability to see and distinguish colors, to visually distinguish shapes and patterns, to accurately sense distances (depth perception), to accurately see objects and detect motion at wide angles (peripheral vision). Frequently uses the lower extremities and back muscles and moving on foot, particularly for long distances. May have exposure to indoor/outdoor adverse weather conditions. Frequent exposure to noise - workers must wear protective hearing equipment or frequently shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. Exposure to pollutants or allergens which can adversely affect the skin and/or the respiratory system such as gases, smoke, odors, mists, fumes, dust, chemicals, oils or solvents. Exposure to hazardous working conditions including moving machinery, electricity and/or working in high places. May be exposed to hot objects, flames or sparks. The job requires the use of protective equipment such as hard hats, respirators, aprons, gloves, special clothing, safety shoes and safety glasses.
