Description:

GENERAL SUMMARY AND PURPOSE:

Performs a variety of advanced / complex duties to support administration of a large department or of multiple departments.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or equivalent required. 5 years of relevant experience required, preferably in a healthcare setting. Experience with process improvement or lean philosophy preferred. Requires intermediate computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Office applications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions. Composes, types and transcribes correspondence, forms, reports, presentation materials and other written communications as required. Receives and screens visitors and telephone calls and handles general inquiries. Uses independent judgment to determine priority and sensitivity of inquiries and responses. Schedules / coordinates meetings, conferences, special events, appointments and travel arrangements. Maintains assigned calendar(s). Establishes and maintains filing systems. Orders and stocks supplies. Assists with special projects and interdepartmental needs when appropriate. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Requires demonstrated proficiency in multi-tasking, flexibility, time management, organization, attention to detail and professionalism. Must be able to work equally well independently and in a team environment.
