Community Relations Specialist

Main Office: Off Site (MOO)

Position Summary

The Community Relations Specialist will plan, develop, implement, and analyze community relations campaigns and related events for Sun real estate development projects.

This position will office out of Cle Elum, WA area.

Duties

1. Builds and maintains relationships with members of the local community
2. Organizes community outreach programs and coordinates special events that will influence public opinion or promote products, services, or ideas of the company
3. Plans, coordinates, and executes special events
4. Gains input on behalf of the local community
5. Plans, develops, implements, and organizes events to advance the mission and goals of the company and project
6. Uses digital media to coordinate community relations as needed
7. Drafts, publishes, and distributes various content that promotes the company
8. Selects positive materials and distributes them through a variety of channels
9. Responds to inquiries from community members and other interested parties; when needed, recruits a knowledgeable spokesperson or information source to assist
10. Reports in on progress and shares necessary information with company leadership on a regular basis
11. Collaborates with and supports all public affairs initiatives as directed by the companys hired agency
12. Other duties and projects as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field (Required)
• 2 years experience working in public relations
• 2 years experience working in the MH, RV, or campground industries
• 2 years internal Sun experience in marketing, PR, or extensive sales/management at a complex property
• Ability to respond to business needs after normal business hours.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Superior interpersonal skills and ability to work extremely well as part of a team
• Ability to evaluate cost of a program and compare it to the benefits for the organization
• Excellent persuasion skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage sensitive or controversial subjects with tact, kindness, and professionalism
