Job Description

A Commercial Property Sales Representative is a real estate agent who helps companies with the sale of their property. In this role, you will work with commercial clients to help them sell their real estate for top value. You will help your clients prepare their real estate for sale by offering expert advice on marketing, advertising and negotiation tactics. Selling commercial real estate can be a daunting task for many companies, so they rely on the expertise and of Commercial Property Sales Representatives to help them navigate the real estate world so they can be as profitable as possible.

The ideal candidate for the Commercial Property Sales Representative position is a fast learner who wants to develop creative ideas to help commercial clients buy or sell their home. Ideally, you have experience in sales, marketing or customer service and thrive in fast-paced environments. There is a great deal of independence in commercial real estate, so if you are self-motivated and enjoy a flexible work schedule, this position could be a great fit for you.

Commercial Property Sales Representatives are compensated whenever they make a transaction. Whenever you close a sale, you earn a competitive portion of the revenue. The more transactions you make, the more income you earn. It is common for Commercial Property Sales Representatives to earn more than $100,000 each year, although it can take a couple of years to hit that mark as you establish a portfolio of clients.

Job Responsibilities

As a Commercial Property Sales Representative, you will...

  • Advise clients on the value of their commercial property by researching comparable properties that have recently sold or are currently on the market
  • Walk clients through the process of receiving offers and negotiating sales contracts
  • Advertise your Commercial Sales Representative services to the local business community
  • Stay informed on the current commercial real estate market environment so you can better understand what makes a property valuable
  • Network with potential commercial clients to increase your customer portfolio

Regulatory Notice: To work as a commercial agent, you must have (or be willing to obtain) a real estate license in the state where you will be working. Like getting a driver's license, state-authorized training/testing is required to obtain a license. Third-party educational institutions provide this fee-based training to the general public.
