The Art History Program in the School of Art + Design at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign invites applications to fill one or more open-rank, non-tenure-track faculty appointments (up to 100% time for up to 9 months).

Qualifications
We seek scholars with an area of specialization in African or Middle Eastern art and visual cultures from any historical period. The ability to teach at least one course in the History of Architecture, Urban Planning, the Built Environment or Design is desirable but not required. Those whose research and teaching demonstrate interdisciplinary or comparative transcultural approaches are especially welcome. A Ph.D. in Art History by the start of the appointment is required. Preference will be given to candidates with a record of successful teaching experience.
Responsibilities

Context
The Art History Program consists of seven full-time tenured/tenure-track faculty members, plus adjuncts and affiliated faculty. Degrees offered include the B.A. and B.F.A, as well as the M.A. and Ph.D. Art History graduate courses also support graduate minors in Museum Studies and Medieval Studies. The University Library is the largest among publicly supported educational institutions and one of the largest university libraries in the country. There are two university museums, the Krannert Art Museum and the Spurlock Museum.

Salary:
