The Clinical Safety Program Manager will:

  • Successfully manage the safety program ensuring that Everside Health team members are working in a safe work environment and that all patients receive safe, reliable, and evidence-based care.
  • Support the vision, mission, and values of the organization in all respects.
  • Manage the strategic deployment of patient and employee safety initiatives with a focus on improving patient outcomes, reducing risks for patients and employees, eliminating errors, implementing best practices and national initiatives, monitoring safety compliance, and leading organizational change.
  • Develop comprehensive safety program for Everside Health, including, but not limited to the following elements:
  • OSHA Program Development and Oversight
    • Develop, implement, and maintain the following:
  • OSHA plans for organization
    • Hazard communication plan
    • Emergency Preparedness Plan
    • Workplace standard hazard assessments
    • Recordkeeping
    • OSHA regulations for updates
    • OSHA training completion and update content as needed
    • SDS online service
  • Patient and Employee Safety
    • Implement and validate yearly, quarterly, monthly, and daily clinic quality checklists
    • Implement and manage quarterly safety drills
    • Perform onsite safety and hazard assessments for sites and provide resolution to lower risk
    • Injury prevention, ergonomics, and Safety Training
  • Incident Reporting
    • Assist with the initial evaluation and triage of incidents reported
    • Support the review, investigation and analysis of major adverse events and ensure appropriate trainings and corrective actions are taken to prevent recurrences.
  • Utilize Lean thinking.
  • Foster relationships with medical staff to inspire, motivate and lead.
  • Support system leadership in the execution of strategies impacting the safety of care delivery program.
  • Define future state requirements for operations in the field of patient and employee safety and ensure that the implementation of strategies and initiatives effectively meet or exceed business and patient expectations.
  • Assists with the review, investigation and closure of safety reports that come through the Patient Safety Organization. Develop and annually review the patient safety program with focused programs and improvements based on internal needs and external requirements and standards.
  • Monitor and identify opportunities for improvement and lead clinical improvement activities to improve those measured outcomes; ensures documentation of the results of enterprise wide safety and quality metrics.
  • Stay abreast with new and revised best practices related to patient and employee safety, serving as a knowledge leader within the industry. Partner with leadership to establish standards and measures. Build and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders to manage effective processes and programs to improve safety and ensure compliance. Provide strategic ROI analysis for safety initiatives and manages recommendations, reviews and approves metrics.
  • Conduct all activities with the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality. Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures, supporting the health system's corporate integrity efforts by acting in an ethical and appropriate manner, reporting known or suspected violations of applicable rules, and cooperating fully with all company investigations and proceedings.
  • Serve as the enterprise liaison with the Patient Safety Organization, the Joint Commission/AAAHC accreditation organizations, regulatory agencies and Everside Health's liability insurance carrier.
  • Provide back-up for customer feedback and process improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • An active clinical license in one of the following fields: Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology or Respiratory Therapy, Required
  • 3 years of work experience or equivalent, in quality/risk management activities required.
  • Experience working with OSHA regulations
  • Knowledgeable in the principles of performance improvement
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree, preferred.
  • Management experience, preferred.
  • Certified Professional Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) certification, preferred.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of functions of all hospital departments and quality improvement requirements as outlined by the Joint Commission, the state of employment's Department of Health and Federal regulatory standards as outlined by CMS.
  • Experience in interpretation of raw data and comparative analysis, experience in conducting educational in-services, experience in coordinating and supervising accreditation/certification survey activities for the Joint Commission, CMS, State Licensure and demonstrated experience in working effectively with multiple departments on confidential issues in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Experience in Risk Management systems and experience in working with the public on issues related to satisfaction/complaints required.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization and analytical skills.

  • Demonstrated success with project management
  • Attention to detail with very strong drafting skills and ability to produce polished and professional written documents, visual diagrams, and reports efficiently
  • An understanding of the health care policies and procedures and compliance programs
  • Knowledge of federal/state health care safety rules, regulations, and guidance
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with the ability to master new topics and ideas quickly
  • Ability to contribute to multiple engagements simultaneously while maintaining excellent focus, quality of work product, and teamwork
